Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

United States

Nursing licence in the US for Nigerian nurses: costs to budget

NCLEX registration is $200 until it rises to $350 on 1 Feb 2027, plus $150 to sit abroad. The credential report, board fees and a full budget.

The short answer

Budget for four layers: a credential evaluation report, your state board's application fee, NCLEX registration and, if you sit the exam outside the US, an international scheduling fee. NCSBN lists NCLEX registration for US licensure at $200, rising to $350 from 1 February 2027, and international scheduling at $150; both are non-refundable. Board and evaluation fees are set by each body, so check them on their own pages.

The route in outline

A nurse educated in Nigeria who wants a US licence typically goes through the same sequence, whatever the state:

  1. Choose the state board of nursing you will apply to (your licence is issued by a state).
  2. Get your Nigerian nursing education evaluated by a provider that board accepts.
  3. Apply to the board for licensure by examination and meet its other requirements.
  4. Register for the NCLEX with Pearson VUE and pay.
  5. Receive an Authorization to Test (ATT) and sit the exam within its validity dates.
  6. Pass, receive the licence, then deal with any visa or employer requirements.

What NCLEX itself costs

From NCSBN's NCLEX fees page (viewed October 2026):

FeeUS licensureFrom 1 Feb 2027
NCLEX registration$200$350
International scheduling (plus VAT where applicable)$150
Change of nursing regulatory body after registering$50
Change of exam type (RN/PN) after registering$50
Licensure feeSet by your board

Registration and international scheduling fees are non-refundable for any reason, including duplicate registrations, missed appointments and late rescheduling. Pay by Visa, Mastercard or American Express; if you do not get confirmation within two days, contact Pearson before paying again. NCSBN also warns that if your board does not make you eligible within 365 days, you forfeit the registration and fee.

What a state board asks for: the Texas example

Each board sets its own rules and fees. The Texas Board of Nursing's licensure-by-examination page shows how much sits around the exam for an internationally educated applicant:

  • An NCLEX application for international graduates through the Texas Nurse Portal.
  • The Nursing Jurisprudence Exam on Texas law and rules.
  • Fingerprints for a criminal background check.
  • English proficiency results if your programme was not taught in English.
  • A Credential Evaluation Service Full Education Professional report from a Board-accepted provider, sent directly and dated within one year.
  • A verification of licensure from every place you have been licensed, sent by that regulator and valid for a year; for most Nigerian nurses that includes the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
  • Work within the past four years, or graduation within four years; otherwise re-education in a new programme.

Texas reviews a complete file for an ATT within 15 business days of the last item, and its ATT and graduate nurse permit last 75 days and cannot be extended. Its page does not list the board's own application fee, so check the portal at the time you apply.

The credential report

TruMerit (whose pages still use the CGFNS name) issues a course-by-course nursing report and says 70% are issued within seven business days once all primary-source documents are received and validated. Its fees are on its fee chart; check the current amount there. Translation, where needed, costs extra. The slow part is usually getting your nursing school and regulator in Nigeria to send documents directly. See credential evaluation costs for how evaluations work in general.

A budget template

Example only. Figures marked 'check' have no fixed published amount we could confirm; fill them in from each body's page on the day.

ItemAmount

NCLEX registration (before 1 Feb 2027)$200
International scheduling, if sitting outside the US$150
Known NCLEX costs$350
Buffer for one resit registration$200 to $350

Add revision materials, travel to a test centre and a cushion for the time between passing and your first US pay. Many hospital employers sponsoring nurses cover some of these costs; ask in writing which ones, and whether any must be repaid if you leave early.

Ordering the spending

The fees do not all fall at once, and the order protects you from paying for steps you cannot use. Pay for the credential report and the Nigerian documents first, since nothing moves without them. Apply to the board next. Register for the NCLEX only when the board has your complete file or is close to it, because the registration is non-refundable and lapses if the board has not made you eligible within 365 days. Book the test date once the ATT arrives; in Texas you then have 75 days. Spread this way, the cost arrives over several months rather than in one month, which matters if you are still earning in naira.

Where Pryme fits

Many of the Nigerian-side fees are charged in naira. A Pryme account holds naira and dollars together, so you can pay those from naira and keep dollars for the US fees, converting with Swap only when needed; the app shows the rate and fee first. Once you are working in the US, our guide to your first 90 days covers the money basics.
