Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Loans

Nomba merchant loan repayment and customer care

How Nomba merchant credit is usually repaid from sales, what to check in your loan terms, and where to take a complaint if support fails.

The short answer

Credit offered inside the Nomba business app is repaid on the schedule written in your loan terms, which may take a share of your incoming settlements or fixed instalments; the terms, not general guides, decide which. Raise problems first through the Help section of the Nomba app, keep every reference, and if the issue is unresolved escalate to the regulator of the lender named in your agreement.

How Nomba merchant credit is structured

Nomba is a payments business: merchants and POS agents use it for card terminals, transfers and business accounts. Any loan or working-capital offer a merchant sees inside Nomba is tied to that business activity, and it is not a personal loan app. The important consequence is that the lending institution and the repayment method are set out in the agreement you accept in the app. Nomba does not publish one fixed repayment rule we could confirm on a page we opened in October 2026, so the agreement on your own screen is the document to keep.

When we checked the FCCPC approved digital lenders list (page last modified 3 March 2026), we did not find Nomba by name. That does not tell you the credit is unlawful: the lender may be a bank or microfinance bank licensed by the CBN, which is supervised differently. It does mean you should read which company is lending before you accept, and look that company up yourself. Our guide on whether Nomba is legit covers that check.

The two repayment patterns you are likely to see

Merchant credit in Nigeria is usually repaid in one of two ways. Read your Nomba agreement to see which applies, because the cash-flow effect is very different.

PatternHow it worksWhat it means for you
Share of settlementsA set percentage of each day's card or transfer takings is held back until the loan and charges are clearedSlow days repay less, busy days repay more; the end date can move
Fixed instalmentsA set amount is taken on set dates, from your Nomba balance or a linked accountPredictable, but a weak week can leave the balance short on a due date

Worked example (illustrative figures only)

Say a merchant accepts ₦300,000 with a total charge of ₦30,000, so ₦330,000 is repayable, and the agreement holds back 10% of each day's settlement. On a day with ₦80,000 in takings, ₦8,000 goes to the loan and ₦72,000 settles to the merchant. At an average of ₦60,000 a day, ₦6,000 a day is held back, so the ₦330,000 is cleared in 55 trading days. If takings fall to ₦40,000 a day, it takes 83 trading days (₦4,000 a day, with the last day short). These figures are examples, not Nomba's terms; your agreement shows the real cost and the real deduction.

Common repayment problems and what to do

  • Settlement looks short. Compare your sales report with the amount settled. The gap should match the deduction in your agreement. If it does not, raise it with Nomba support and quote the transaction dates.
  • Loan still shows a balance after you have paid it off. Take screenshots of the repayment history and the loan screen, and ask support to reconcile them.
  • You want to repay early. Ask for a written payoff figure as at a specific date and whether any unearned charge is removed before you pay.
  • Takings have dropped and you will miss a fixed instalment. Contact support before the due date and ask in writing whether the schedule can be changed. Record the answer.
  • Someone asks you to pay a loan into a personal account. Do not. Repay only through the channels shown in the app.

Reaching Nomba support and escalating a complaint

We could not confirm a Nomba phone number or email address on an official page we opened, so we are not printing one. Use the Help or Support section inside the Nomba app, and the contact details on Nomba's own website, rather than numbers posted on social media. Keep the ticket number for every contact.

  1. Write the complaint once, clearly: your business name, the loan reference, dates, amounts and what you want done.
  2. Give support a reasonable time to answer and ask for a written response.
  3. If it stays unresolved, check your agreement for the lender's name. If the lender is a bank or microfinance bank, you can complain to that institution's own complaints desk and then to the CBN.
  4. Where the issue is how you were treated as a borrower, the FCCPC takes complaints through complaints.fccpc.gov.ng and the email lenderstaskforce@fccpc.gov.ng, and its site lists 0805 600 2020 and 0805 600 3030. The FCCPC resumed implementing its 2025 digital lending regulations on 20 July 2026; how those rules apply to business credit depends on the product, so describe the loan accurately in your complaint.

Records worth keeping

Merchant credit disputes are usually settled by records, not memory. Download your daily settlement reports for the whole life of the loan, keep a copy of the agreement as it looked when you accepted it, and note any change in the deduction rate the app shows. If you run several terminals, check that deductions are being taken once across the business and not separately from each terminal, unless your agreement says otherwise. A simple spreadsheet with date, takings, amount settled and amount held back makes any mismatch easy to show to support.

Where Pryme fits

Some businesses would rather not have repayments taken from the same balance they use for daily trade. A Pryme Business Account keeps your money in separate currencies, and businesses in supported sectors can join Spaces. For the business owner's own spending, Loans on Spaces are lent by Solid Allianze MFB, offered based on how the account is run, and shown in full before you accept.

Questions people ask

How does Nomba collect loan repayment?

It depends on your agreement. Merchant credit is commonly repaid from a share of daily settlements or by fixed instalments; your Nomba loan terms state which applies and how much is taken.

Why is my Nomba settlement less than my sales?

If you have an active loan, part of each settlement may be held back to repay it. Compare the gap with the deduction in your agreement and raise any mismatch with Nomba support.

What is Nomba customer care number?

We could not confirm one on an official page we opened in October 2026. Use the Help section in the Nomba app or the contact details on Nomba's own website, not numbers shared on social media.

Where can I report Nomba loan issues?

Start with Nomba support, then the lender named in your agreement. If the lender is a bank or MFB, the CBN is the next step; the FCCPC takes borrower-treatment complaints at complaints.fccpc.gov.ng.
