Meet Eva, the assistant inside the Pryme app. She holds dollars, pounds, euros and Naira side by side, swaps at a locked rate, pays bills in any of them and sends anywhere, asking before anything moves.

We give you a limit to spend at the shops and services you already use — and an account that works on your month while you get on with it. Dollars, pounds and euros sit beside your Naira, and an assistant handles the running of it, asking you first every single time.

You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

No card, no OTP, nothing for the buyer to type in. They transfer from the bank app they already use, and the money lands in the same account your agents are running — already matched to the order, already in your books.
We give the buyer a one-time account number. They transfer to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in.

Resolved 4 conversations — two deliveries, one refund. The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.
An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

If you live in Italy, the discount you earn on Nigerian T-bills is taxable there. How the rate works, where it goes on the return and what Nigeria takes.
Yes. If you are tax resident in Italy, the return on Nigerian Treasury bills is Italian taxable income, declared in the Redditi PF return when no Italian intermediary handles it (quadro RM, section II-A, line RM31). Interest on government securities of a white-list state is taxed at 12.5% rather than 26%, and Nigeria was added to the Italian white list by a decree of 9 August 2016; the bills must also be reported in quadro RW.
Nigerian Treasury bills are short-term debt of the Federal Government, sold at a discount and repaid at face value. The gap between what you pay and what you get back is your return. Many Nigerians in Italy buy them through a Nigerian bank or broker because the naira yields look high next to euro deposits. The Italian tax side is the part people tend to miss.
Once you are tax resident in Italy, income from abroad is declared in Italy, including interest and similar returns earned in Nigeria. Our guide to when you become tax resident in Italy covers the residence tests. If you are resident, the T-bill discount is not exempt just because it stayed in a Nigerian account.
Where the investment is held with a Nigerian bank or broker, no Italian bank withholds tax for you. You declare it yourself. A commercialista writing for Fiscomania (May 2025) explains that foreign capital income received directly is reported in quadro RM, section II-A, line RM31, and is subject to a substitute tax (imposta sostitutiva) whose rate matches the withholding rate for the same type of income under art. 18 TUIR.
The same guide lists the codes used on line RM31:
| RM31 code | Type of income | Rate (per Fiscomania, May 2025) |
|---|---|---|
| A | Interest on government and similar bonds of white-list states | 12.5% |
| A | Government bonds of states not on the white list | 26% |
| G | Interest on foreign deposits and bank accounts | 26% |
| H | Foreign dividends | 26% |
The white list is the Italian list of states that exchange tax information adequately. A FiscoeTasse summary of the list (Oct 2016) shows Nigeria "inserito con Decreto Ministeriale del 09 agosto 2016", published in the Gazzetta Ufficiale n. 195 of 22 August 2016. Treasury bills are Federal Government securities, so the 12.5% line is the one that normally fits them. The guide does not name Nigerian T-bills specifically, so confirm the code with your commercialista or CAF before filing.
On the Nigerian side, a Reuters report (29 Oct 2025) said the tax authority directed a 10% withholding tax on interest from short-term securities, naming T-bills as an example, where these had previously been exempt. The report did not give the start date or say whether the deduction is a final tax. Ask your bank or broker whether they deduct it and for a receipt; our article on withholding tax on Nigerian interest explains the Nigerian rules.
Italy and Nigeria have a tax treaty, but a 2022 Nigerian tax authority circular lists the Italy treaty as covering air and shipping only. It therefore gives no reduced rate on interest. Whether Italy gives a credit for Nigerian tax under the substitute-tax regime is not settled on the pages we read; the Fiscomania guide notes that some income can instead be taxed under ordinary rates with a foreign tax credit, but that is a choice to model with an adviser. See foreign tax credit in Italy for Nigerian tax.
Example only, using round figures. You buy a 364-day bill with a face value of ₦10,000,000 for ₦8,600,000.
The figures in your return are in euros, so you also need the euro value of the income. Keep the purchase and maturity statements and the exchange rate used, and ask your adviser which rate and date the rules require.
Holding the bills abroad also means reporting them. Fiscomania (Jan 2026) says residents must report foreign financial assets in quadro RW, with no minimum threshold except for certain current accounts. IVAFE, the wealth tax on foreign financial assets, is 0.2% a year for most financial products and 0.4% for assets in non-cooperative countries; bank accounts pay a fixed €34.20. Penalties for not filing RW run from 3% to 15% of the undeclared value. Read quadro RW for Nigerian investments, including IVAFE.
The Nigerian purchase steps are covered in how to buy Treasury bills in Nigeria and buying Nigerian T-bills from Italy.
A Pryme account holds naira and euros side by side, so maturity proceeds can stay in naira or be converted when you choose with Swap, which shows the rate and the fee before you approve. Verifiable statements through receipts help when your adviser asks for proof.
No. For an Italian tax resident it is taxable. Interest on government securities of white-list states, which include Nigeria, is taxed at 12.5% rather than 26%, per a commercialista's guide to quadro RM.
When no Italian intermediary is involved, it goes in quadro RM, section II-A, line RM31 of the Redditi PF return. The holding itself goes in quadro RW.
Not on interest. A 2022 Nigerian circular lists the Italy treaty as covering air and shipping only.
Foreign financial products held abroad are generally subject to IVAFE at 0.2% a year, and must be reported in quadro RW. Check the exact base with your adviser.
