Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Keystone Bank fixed deposit: minimum, tenors and how to open

Keystone Bank's accounts page lists no fixed deposit terms. What it does publish, how to get a quote, and what its ownership changes mean.

The short answer

Keystone Bank's personal accounts page, read in October 2026, lists savings, current and domiciliary accounts with their minimums but no fixed deposit, so there is no published minimum, tenor or rate. Ask the 24-hour contact centre or a branch for a written quote, and note that Keystone has been government-owned since a 2025 court order, with the CBN describing it as fully operational.

What Keystone Bank publishes

Keystone Bank's personal accounts page is detailed about everyday accounts. It gives minimums for Quick Save (₦500 operating), Personal Savings (₦500), Personal Current (no minimum) and the Evolve account for students and corps members, along with domiciliary accounts in euros, pounds and dollars. It links to an online account-opening route. What it does not list, on the version we read in October 2026, is a fixed or term deposit with its own terms.

Neither of the two nairaCompare comparison articles we checked, from 2023 and 2024, covers Keystone either. That leaves no dependable public figure for the minimum, the tenors or the rate. Anything quoted elsewhere should be confirmed with the bank.

That is common rather than unusual. Fixed deposit rates in Nigeria move with the money market and are often priced individually, so several banks quote them only at booking. The cost to you is that you cannot compare Keystone against other banks from your phone; you have to collect quotes. Doing that on the same day, for the same amount and tenor, is the only fair comparison, and it puts you in a better position to ask Keystone to match a better offer.

Getting a quote and opening one

  1. Open a Keystone account if you do not have one; the accounts page links to online opening.
  2. Call the contact centre. Keystone's card services page lists +234 700 2000 3000 as its 24-hour line.
  3. Ask whether the bank books naira fixed deposits for personal customers, the minimum, and the tenors on offer.
  4. Ask for the rate per year for your amount and tenor, in writing, with the date it is valid.
  5. Ask the early-liquidation rule and the default at maturity.
  6. Book through a branch or account officer and keep the deposit advice.

Short or long: a worked example

Example only, with illustrative rates, not Keystone quotes. Suppose the bank offers 12% a year for 30 days or 13% a year for 90 days on ₦500,000.

ChoiceCalculationGross interest
One 90-day booking at 13%₦500,000 × 13% × 90 ÷ 365₦16,027.40
Three 30-day bookings at 12%, principal only rolled(₦500,000 × 12% × 30 ÷ 365) × 3₦14,794.53

The 90-day booking earns ₦1,232.87 more here, in return for less flexibility. If you might need the money within the quarter, or expect rates to rise, the short bookings give you an exit every month. Our guide to choosing a fixed deposit tenor sets out the trade-off.

How the booking itself should look

Whatever terms Keystone offers, a well-documented fixed deposit has the same features at any bank. Expect a booking advice or certificate that names you as depositor, shows the principal, the rate per year, the start and maturity dates, the interest payment basis and your maturity instruction. If any of these is missing, ask for a corrected copy before the money leaves your current account.

Three further questions are worth asking at Keystone specifically, because the bank does not publish answers. Can a fixed deposit be booked through its Keymobile app or internet banking, or only at a branch? Will the deposit renew automatically, and if so on what terms? And can the deposit be pledged against a loan, so that you can borrow rather than break it if you need cash early? Our guide to the fixed deposit certificate explains what each line on the document means and how to use it at maturity.

Keystone's ownership and what it means for depositors

Keystone has been through more change than most banks. The CBN dissolved its board and management in January 2024. On 11 February 2025 the Lagos State Special Offences Court ordered 6.3 billion ordinary shares forfeited to the Federal Government, and the Federal Ministry of Information reported the bank's statement that it was now fully government-owned. The CBN said in February 2025 that Keystone was safe, sound and fully operational.

In April 2026 the CBN said Union, Keystone and Polaris could raise the required capital, remained under regulatory and judicial review, and that customers did not need to panic or close their accounts. For a depositor, the practical points are deposit insurance and size. Keystone is a deposit money bank, and the NDIC covers such banks up to ₦5,000,000 per depositor, with all balances at the bank combined. If your fixed deposit would take your total above that, consider whether you are comfortable relying on the bank's own soundness for the excess. See are fixed deposits NDIC-insured.

What to check first

  • That Keystone will book a personal fixed deposit for your amount.
  • The rate per year, the tenor and whether the rate is fixed throughout.
  • How interest is paid and whether tax is deducted first.
  • The early-exit rule, in writing.
  • Your total balance at Keystone against the NDIC limit.

If a fixed deposit turns out not to suit you, the trade-offs against savings are in fixed deposit vs savings account.

Where Pryme fits

A Pryme Fixed Savings Box shows its rate in the app before you lock naira, which can serve as a reference point when you compare the quote Keystone gives you.

Questions people ask

Does Keystone Bank have fixed deposit?

Its personal accounts page did not list one in October 2026. Ask the contact centre on +234 700 2000 3000 whether personal fixed deposits are booked and on what terms.

What is Keystone Bank fixed deposit rate?

Keystone does not publish one. Ask for a written rate for your exact amount and tenor, stated per year.

Is Keystone Bank safe now?

The CBN said in February 2025 that Keystone was safe, sound and fully operational, and in April 2026 that customers did not need to close their accounts. NDIC cover is ₦5,000,000 per depositor.

Who owns Keystone Bank?

Following a February 2025 court forfeiture order, the bank said it was fully government-owned, according to the Federal Ministry of Information.
