Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

How to check Glo airtime balance

The code to check your Glo airtime balance, the older codes people still use, and what to do when the balance check fails or shows the wrong figure.

The short answer

Dial *310# to check your Glo airtime balance; it is the NCC's harmonised balance code for every network, in force since 2023. You can also use Glo's Self Care line on 500. Older Glo codes such as *124# are still widely quoted, but we could not confirm them on Glo's own pages in October 2026.

Checking your airtime balance is one of the most common things people do on a phone, and the code has changed. In 2023 the NCC introduced short codes that work the same way on every network, and Glo's older codes are no longer the official route. This guide gives the current code, the alternatives, and fixes for when the check does not work.

The code: *310#

The NCC's harmonised short codes, published on 7 June 2023, set 310 as the universal code for checking balance. The NCC said older network-specific codes would co-exist until 17 May 2023, and the harmonised codes apply across MTN, Airtel, Glo and T2 (formerly 9mobile).

  1. Open your phone's dialler.
  2. Dial *310# from the Glo line you want to check.
  3. Your main balance, and sometimes bonus balances, appear on screen or by SMS.

What about *124#?

*124# was Glo's balance code for years, and many people still use it. We could not find it on Glo's support or homepage in October 2026, so we cannot say whether it still works on every line. If it works for you, it is giving the same information; if it fails, use *310#.

Other ways to check

RouteHowNotes
USSD*310#Works without data
Self CareCall 500 (5001 English, 5002 Yoruba, 5003 Hausa, 5004 Igbo)Listed on Glo's support page
Customer care300, or 0805 002 0121For disputes about your balance
AppGlo's app, signed in with your numberGlo's pages offer app-based services; the menu changes

If you are checking a line you do not have with you, you will need to call customer care or use the app; USSD codes check only the SIM you dial from.

When the balance check fails

Messages like "balance unavailable", "connection problem" or "invalid MMI code" usually come from the network or the phone, not your account.

  • Check signal. USSD needs network coverage. Move to a spot with better signal and try again.
  • Check the code. Make sure you typed *310# with the star and hash, and that you are dialling from the Glo SIM on a dual-SIM phone.
  • Restart the phone to refresh its connection to the network.
  • Try later. USSD can be slow at busy times. If several attempts fail across an hour, try Self Care on 500.
  • Check whether the line is barred. A line that cannot make calls or use USSD may be barred; see Glo line barred: how to restore it.

When the balance looks wrong

If your airtime is lower than you expected, the usual reasons are:

  • A data plan set to renew, which buys itself from airtime; see cancelling Glo data auto-renewal.
  • A Borrow Me loan being recovered from your recharge. Glo's Borrow Me Credit page says borrowed airtime is deducted from your next recharge; see Glo Borrow Me.
  • A content or value-added subscription. The NCC's universal code 305 is for stopping services.
  • Calls or browsing charged at out-of-bundle rates after a plan expired.

A worked example

Example: you recharge
₦1,000
Example: an outstanding Borrow Me loan of
₦200
Balance you then see on *310#
₦800

If a deduction does not match anything you recognise, write down the date, time and amount and contact Glo on 300. If Glo does not resolve it, the NCC's complaint process lets you escalate; see escalating a Glo complaint to the NCC.

Other harmonised codes worth knowing

The same NCC list that introduced *310# set other universal codes that work on Glo. They are useful alongside a balance check:

CodeWhat it does (per the NCC list)
300Call centre or help desk
303Borrow service
305Stop a service
311Credit recharge
312Data plans
321Share airtime or data
323Data plan balance
996Check SIM registration and NIN-SIM linkage

Glo's own pages sometimes use these numbers differently; its Borrow Data page, for example, names *321# for borrowing data. When a menu appears, follow what it offers. For the full list, see Glo USSD codes.

A balance check from a dual-SIM phone is a common source of confusion. The phone sends the code through whichever SIM is set as default for calls, so you may be reading another network's balance. Choose the Glo SIM when the phone asks, or set it as the default before dialling. The reply should mention Glo, which confirms you are reading the right line.

Where Pryme fits

If your balance is low, you can top up any Glo line through airtime and data in the Pryme app, with the amount shown before you approve and a receipt you can check later.

Questions people ask

What is the code to check Glo airtime balance?

*310#. It is the NCC's harmonised balance code for all networks, published in June 2023.

Does *124# still work on Glo?

Many people still use it, but we could not confirm it on Glo's own pages in October 2026. Use *310# if it fails.

Why is my Glo balance check not working?

Usually poor signal, a mistyped code or dialling from the wrong SIM. Restart the phone and try *310# again, or call Self Care on 500.

Why is my Glo airtime reducing on its own?

Common causes are data auto-renewal, Borrow Me recovery, value-added subscriptions and out-of-bundle charges. The 305 code stops services; contact Glo on 300 for unexplained deductions.
