Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Loans

EaseMoni interest rate, limit and repayment explained

How to read the cost of an EaseMoni loan when the rate may be shown daily, for the term or monthly, with a worked example of each.

The short answer

EaseMoni shows the loan amount, interest or service charge, total repayable and due date in its app before you accept, and we could not verify a current public rate card, so the offer screen is the figure to trust. The key step is to note whether the charge is daily, monthly or for the whole term and convert it to naira before you compare it with any other loan.

EaseMoni is a Nigerian short-term loan app. Like most apps in this category, it gives each borrower a personal offer rather than a single published rate, and the amounts for new users tend to be small. Searches for its interest rate turn up figures that are undated or copied from other apps. This guide shows you how to read the offer you actually get.

What to look for on the EaseMoni offer

For this article we could not confirm a current EaseMoni rate, fee or limit range on an official page. The terms that bind you are on the offer screen and in the loan agreement. Find these lines before you accept:

  1. The amount that will be paid into your account.
  2. Any processing or service fee, and whether it is taken from the amount paid out.
  3. The interest or charge, with its period (per day, per month, or for the loan).
  4. The total repayable in naira.
  5. The due date or dates.
  6. The charge for late repayment and when it starts.

Daily, monthly or for the term: the same cost three ways

Short-term apps state cost in different ways, and that is the main reason borrowers misjudge it. The example below shows one loan described three ways.

How the cost is shownExampleCost on ₦20,000 for 30 days
Per day1% a day₦20,000 × 1% × 30 = ₦6,000
Per month30% a month₦6,000
For the term30% for 30 days₦6,000
Total repayable₦26,000
Simple yearly equivalent30% × 12360%

All three descriptions are the same loan. "1% a day" sounds smallest but costs exactly the same. Now take a different offer of 15% for the term, but on a 14-day loan: on ₦20,000, the charge is ₦3,000 and the total ₦23,000. It looks cheaper than the first offer, yet over a full month you would pay that 15% roughly twice if you borrowed again, which works out at about the same cost. Always compare the cost per month, not the cost per loan.

Fees taken upfront

If a fee is taken from the amount paid out, your real cost is higher than the stated percentage. For example, if ₦2,000 is deducted from a ₦20,000 loan and you still repay ₦26,000, you received ₦18,000 and paid ₦8,000 for it, which is about 44% of what you actually got. Check the amount received, not just the amount borrowed.

How limits usually grow

Short-term apps usually start new users low and raise limits after loans are repaid on time. Late or missed payments can be reported to credit bureaus and lower your offers across lenders. EaseMoni does not publish a limit table that we could verify. See how to grow a credit limit and how credit bureaus work.

Checks before you borrow

  • Confirm the company named in the agreement and check it on the FCCPC's register of approved digital lenders; see how to check.
  • Read which phone permissions the app asks for, and decline contacts access where you can.
  • If you are contacted with threats or your contacts are messaged, read your rights against loan app harassment.
  • For more on the company, see is EaseMoni legit.

If you cannot repay on the due date

Most of the harm from short-term loans happens after a missed date. Late charges begin, the debt may be reported to credit bureaus, and collection contact starts. If you can see a problem coming, act before the date passes:

  1. Contact EaseMoni through the app or by email and say when you can pay. A written record matters.
  2. Ask whether a part payment will be accepted and how the rest will be charged.
  3. Do not take a new loan from another app to repay this one unless you are sure the second loan is cheaper and you can repay it; that is how a small debt becomes several.
  4. Keep proof of every payment you make.

A lender may contact you about a debt you owe, but it may not threaten you, insult you or contact people in your phone to shame you.

When a short-term loan makes sense

A loan at a high monthly rate can still be reasonable for a real, short gap, such as a medical bill a few days before payday, if you are certain of repaying on the due date. It is rarely sensible for regular expenses, because the cost repeats every month. If you find yourself borrowing each month, the money problem is the budget, not the limit.

Where Pryme fits

Pryme does not offer cash loans. For planned spending with merchants in Spaces, Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank may offer Loans on Spaces, with cost and repayment date shown before you accept.

Questions people ask

What is EaseMoni interest rate?

EaseMoni shows the charge on your offer screen. We could not verify a current published rate, so check whether it is daily, monthly or for the term and convert it to naira.

How much can I borrow from EaseMoni?

The amount offered depends on your profile and repayment history. New users usually start with small amounts.

How long do I have to repay EaseMoni?

Your due date is on the offer before you accept. Short-term apps often run from a couple of weeks to a few months.

Does EaseMoni charge late fees?

Check the late-payment line in your agreement before you accept; it states the charge and when it starts.
