Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Driver's licence in Onitsha: FRSC centres, test and fees

Getting or renewing a driver's licence in Onitsha: the FRSC portal, driving school certificate, capture centre, current fees and tracking.

The short answer

In Onitsha you apply for a national driver's licence on the FRSC portal, pay, and attend a licence capture centre in Anambra for photo and biometrics. As at October 2026 the FRSC portal FAQ listed ₦15,000 for a 3-year and ₦21,000 for a 5-year licence for most classes, and ₦7,000 and ₦11,000 for Class A (motorcycles). First-time applicants also need a certificate number from an accredited driving school.

The driver's licence is a national document issued under the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) system, so the process in Onitsha is the same as anywhere in Nigeria: apply online, pay, then appear in person for capture. What is local is where you go for capture and, for new drivers, which driving school you train with. This guide covers both, using the FRSC's own portal as the source for fees and steps.

Fees as listed by FRSC

The FAQ on the FRSC driver's licence portal, checked in October 2026, gave these fees for a new licence:

Class3-year licence5-year licence
Class A (motorcycle)₦7,000₦11,000
Other classes (including private cars)₦15,000₦21,000
  • Each class is charged separately, so a licence covering two classes costs more.
  • The portal notes that other channel or bank charges may apply on top.
  • The FAQ did not list a separate renewal fee; the portal shows the amount when you start a renewal.

These figures match a June 2025 Dataphyte report of an FRSC fee review that raised the 3-year licence from ₦10,000 to ₦15,000 and the 5-year licence from ₦15,000 to ₦21,000. Fees can change; the portal shows the amount due before you pay. Anyone asking for far more than this for the licence itself is adding their own charge.

Steps for a first licence

  1. Train at an FRSC-accredited driving school and obtain its certificate number; the portal asks for it from fresh applicants.
  2. Start the application on the FRSC driver's licence portal and fill in your details.
  3. Choose a capture centre in Anambra, using the portal's Contact page, which lists capture centres by state and LGA.
  4. Pay the fee shown and keep the receipt and Application ID.
  5. Attend the capture centre for your photo and biometrics, with your documents. Applicants for commercial licences also need a medical certificate.
  6. Track progress on the portal with your Application ID, or later with your licence number and date of birth.

The FRSC portal says applications must be completed in person at a centre; there is no fully online licence. Be wary of anyone offering a licence "without test" or without capture.

Renewing in Onitsha

Renewal follows the same pattern: start on the portal, pay, and attend a capture centre if required. Start a few weeks before expiry so you are not driving on an expired licence. Have your old licence number ready, and update your address and phone number if they have changed.

Finding a capture centre near Onitsha

We could not confirm the current addresses of capture centres in Onitsha from an official page for this article. Use the portal's "Capture Centre by State/LGA" list, choose Anambra and the relevant LGA (for example Onitsha North or Onitsha South), and phone ahead to confirm opening hours and what to bring. If the Onitsha centre is busy, the portal may list others in the state.

Worked example: what a new driver pays

Example only. A new driver in Onitsha wants a 5-year licence for a private car.

ItemAmount
5-year licence fee (FRSC portal, Oct 2026)₦21,000
Driving school course₦60,000 (example; ask schools)
Bank or channel charge₦100 (example)
Total₦81,100

₦21,000 + ₦60,000 + ₦100 = ₦81,100. Only the licence fee comes from FRSC; driving school prices vary, so compare a few accredited schools in Onitsha before you enrol.

Common problems and how to handle them

Payment made, application not updated

Keep the payment receipt and the Application ID together. Give it a little time, then check the status on the portal. If it still shows unpaid, take the receipt to the capture centre or contact FRSC through the portal rather than paying a second time.

Name or date of birth does not match your ID

Your details should match your NIN record. If the mismatch is on your NIN record itself, correct that with NIMC first, because a licence issued on wrong details causes trouble later with banks and insurers.

Agents and touts

Some people around licensing offices offer to "speed up" applications for a fee. The official process is the portal, the listed fee and capture in person. Paying a third party does not change the rules, and it exposes your personal details to someone you cannot hold to account.

Where Pryme fits

You can pay the portal fee by bank transfer or card from a Pryme account, and keep the receipt with your other records. Pryme has no role in licensing. If you are budgeting for a car, our transport budget guide helps you plan running costs.

Questions people ask

How much is a driver's licence in Anambra?

As at October 2026 the FRSC portal FAQ listed ₦15,000 for 3 years and ₦21,000 for 5 years for most classes, and ₦7,000 and ₦11,000 for Class A. Channel charges may apply.

Where is the FRSC licence office in Onitsha?

Use the Capture Centre by State/LGA list on the FRSC driver's licence portal, choose Anambra and your LGA, and call ahead to confirm.

Do I need a driving school certificate for a licence?

Yes for first-time applicants; the FRSC portal asks for an accredited driving school's certificate number.

Can I get a driver's licence online without capture?

No. You apply and pay online, but you must attend a capture centre in person.
