Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Driver's licence in Ado-Ekiti: FRSC and VIO steps and fees

How to get or renew a driver's licence in Ado-Ekiti: driving school, FRSC portal, capture, fees as at Oct 2026, and where VIO fits.

The short answer

In Ado-Ekiti, as everywhere in Nigeria, you apply for or renew a driver's licence on the FRSC National Driver's Licence portal, pay online, then attend a licence capture centre in person. The FRSC portal lists ₦15,000 for three years and ₦21,000 for five years for a car licence, and ₦7,000 or ₦11,000 for a motorcycle (Class A), with possible channel charges. First-time applicants must first train at an accredited driving school, which issues the certificate number needed to start.

Getting a licence in Ado-Ekiti involves three bodies: an accredited driving school, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), which issues the National Driver's Licence, and the state's Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), which in many states handles driving tests and vehicle inspection. The fees below come from the FRSC portal and a Joint Tax Board circular reported in October 2024; we could not find a published Ekiti VIO fee schedule, so ask at the office for any state charges.

Fees as at October 2026

Licence3 years5 years
Class A (motorcycle)₦7,000₦11,000
Other classes, including private car (Class B)₦15,000₦21,000

These are the figures on the FRSC portal FAQ, which adds that each class is charged separately and that channel charges may apply. They match the Joint Tax Board circular reported by The Guardian on 11 October 2024, effective 1 November 2024. Check the portal before paying, because fees are set nationally and can change. Anyone asking for a much larger 'all-inclusive' amount should show you what each part is for.

Steps: first licence

  1. Enrol at an accredited driving school in or near Ado-Ekiti. The FRSC portal lists accredited schools by state and local government under Contact.
  2. Complete the mandatory training. The school gives you a certificate number.
  3. Go to the FRSC National Driver's Licence portal, start a fresh application and enter the certificate number.
  4. Fill in personal and contact details, choose your processing centre and licence class, then review and pay. First-time applicants can apply for at most two classes, A and B.
  5. Attend your chosen capture centre in person for photograph and biometrics. The FRSC says applicants must appear in person and proxies are not allowed.
  6. Track the application on the portal with your application ID, or your licence number and date of birth.

Have your National Identification Number (NIN) ready in case the portal or centre asks for it. Applications left unpaid are purged from the portal after three months, according to the FRSC FAQ, so pay soon after starting.

Steps: renewal or replacement

  • Renewal is for an expired licence; reissue is for a valid licence that is lost, stolen or needs changes. Both need your existing licence number.
  • Apply on the same portal, choose three or five years, and pay.
  • Attend the capture centre if asked.
  • Upgrades, such as adding a motorcycle class or moving from private to commercial, are done through renewal or reissue and may change your licence number.

Where VIO fits in Ekiti

In many states the VIO tests learners and inspects vehicles, and some states charge their own fees for tests or learner's permits. We could not find an Ekiti State page listing VIO procedures or fees. Before you pay anyone, ask the driving school which tests are needed for your class, where the VIO office is in Ado-Ekiti, and for an official receipt for any state charge. Commercial licences are not processed on the FRSC online portal; ask the FRSC office in Ado-Ekiti what applies.

Timeline and common delays

The FRSC FAQ does not give a fixed production time. Common reasons for delay are mismatched names between your licence application and NIN, missing driving school certificate numbers, and capture centre backlogs. Ask the centre when to return, keep your payment receipt, and ask whether a temporary licence or slip is issued while you wait for the card. If you will need the licence for a job or travel, start at least a few weeks early.

Worked example

Example: a first-time applicant wants a five-year private car licence and a five-year motorcycle licence. FRSC fees: ₦21,000 + ₦11,000 = ₦32,000, plus any channel charge shown at payment. Driving school fees and any VIO charges come on top and vary by school.

The cost of driving without one

ThisDay reported in February 2025 that the FRSC Corps Marshal ordered the activation of the penalty point system. In that report, driving without a valid licence attracts 10 points and a ₦10,000 fine. Points accumulate: 10 to 14 points brings a warning, 15 to 20 a suspension, and 21 a withdrawal of the licence. A ₦10,000 fine is not far from the cost of a three-year licence, before any time lost at the roadside, so an expired licence is a poor saving.

What to check first

  • Your licence expiry date, printed on the card. Renew before it lapses rather than after a stop.
  • That your name and date of birth on the licence match your NIN and other IDs; mismatches slow renewals.
  • Which class you need. A private car licence does not cover commercial driving or a motorcycle.
  • That the driving school you choose appears on the FRSC accredited list for Ekiti State.
  • The exact amount on the portal at payment, including any channel charge, before you confirm.

Where Pryme fits

Keep licence and vehicle papers money ready in a Naira Savings Box, and let Eva, the Personal Assistant, remind you before your licence expires. For other ID tasks in the city, see NIN and BVN enrolment in Ado-Ekiti; for fleet rules, see commercial driver licences.

Questions people ask

How much is driver's licence in Ekiti State?

FRSC's portal lists ₦15,000 (3 years) or ₦21,000 (5 years) for a car licence and ₦7,000 or ₦11,000 for a motorcycle, plus possible channel charges. Ask about any state VIO fees.

Where can I do driver's licence capture in Ado-Ekiti?

Choose a capture centre on the FRSC portal under Contact, Capture Centre by State/LGA, when you apply.

Can I renew my driver's licence online?

You apply and pay online on the FRSC portal, then attend capture in person if required.

Do I need a driving school certificate in Ekiti?

Yes for a first licence. The FRSC requires training at an accredited driving school, whose certificate number starts the application.
