Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Driver's licence in Enugu: FRSC centres, test and fees

How to get or renew a driver's licence in Enugu through the FRSC process, the fees reported in June 2025, and what to bring.

The short answer

In Enugu, as everywhere in Nigeria, the national driver's licence is issued by the FRSC with state licensing authorities: you apply online, pay, then attend a licensing centre for capture. FRSC fees reported in June 2025 were ₦15,000 for a 3-year licence and ₦21,000 for a 5-year licence, up from ₦10,000 and ₦15,000. Confirm the amount on the official portal before you pay.

Getting a driver's licence in Enugu follows the national process run by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) together with the state's licensing authorities. What differs locally is which centre you attend and how busy it is. This guide sets out the steps, the reported fees, and how to avoid paying twice.

Fees as reported in June 2025

ItemPrevious feeNew feeChange
Driver's licence, 3 years₦10,000₦15,00050%
Driver's licence, 5 years₦15,000₦21,00040%
Standard number plate₦18,750₦30,00060%

Source: Dataphyte, 24 June 2025, reporting an FRSC statement; the report did not give an effective date. Fees are set nationally and can change, so check the figure on the FRSC portal when you apply. Driving school fees and any learner's permit charge are separate, and we could not confirm them on an official page.

Steps for a new licence

  1. Learn to drive and get your learner's permit. New drivers usually start with a learner's permit and training at an accredited driving school, which issues a certificate.
  2. Apply online. Complete the application on the FRSC national driver's licence portal and choose the 3-year or 5-year option.
  3. Pay the fee through the payment option the portal gives, and keep the payment reference.
  4. Book and attend a centre in Enugu. Choose your licensing centre, then go with your documents for verification, a test where required, photograph and fingerprints.
  5. Collect your licence. You may receive a temporary slip first; the permanent card is produced later. Keep the slip until you collect the card.

What to bring

Requirements are set by FRSC and the licensing authority; confirm the current list on the portal. Commonly requested items include:

  • Your NIN, with your name and date of birth exactly as on the NIMC record
  • Driving school certificate (new applicants)
  • Learner's permit (new applicants)
  • Payment reference or receipt
  • Your old licence (renewals)

A licence is also a recognised form of identity: under the CBN's three-tier KYC rules (2013 circular), banks verify customer ID against NIMC, INEC or FRSC databases, which is one more reason to keep the details on your licence matching your NIN.

If you do not yet have a NIN, see NIN and BVN enrolment in Enugu.

Renewing in Enugu

Renewal follows the same online application and payment, then capture at a centre. Start before expiry, because capture appointments can fill up, and an expired licence may not be accepted where you need it as identification. If your card was produced elsewhere, you can still choose an Enugu centre for capture, because the record is national.

Common problems and what to do

Paid but no licence

If you paid and cannot get a capture date or your card has not been produced, go back to the portal with your payment reference first and check the application status. If the status is unclear, take the reference and your receipt to the centre you chose and ask for the case to be traced. Do not pay a second time through an intermediary to "push" the file; you may end up with two payments and still one delayed card.

Name or date of birth mismatch

When the details you enter do not match your NIN record, verification can stall. Correct the NIN record with NIMC first if it is wrong, then apply with identical spelling. Small differences, such as a middle name present on one record and missing on another, are a frequent cause.

Lost or damaged licence

Ask the centre for the replacement procedure and fee, which we could not confirm on an official page. Keep a photocopy and a photo of your licence so you have the number to hand.

Worked example: 3-year or 5-year?

Using the June 2025 fees, a 3-year licence costs ₦15,000, or ₦5,000 a year; a 5-year licence costs ₦21,000, or ₦4,200 a year. Over 15 years, renewing every 3 years means five payments of ₦15,000 (₦75,000), while renewing every 5 years means three payments of ₦21,000 (₦63,000), a saving of ₦12,000 at today's fees and fewer trips to a centre. Fees may rise again, which also favours the longer option.

What to check first

  • The current fee on the FRSC portal, not a figure from a vendor.
  • Which Enugu centre you have booked, and its opening hours.
  • That your name and date of birth match your NIN record exactly; mismatches cause delays.
  • For commercial driving, the class of licence you need; see commercial driver's licence rules.

Our guide to transport costs in Enugu helps if you are weighing a car against keke and taxis.

Where Pryme fits

Keep licence and vehicle papers renewals on the calendar with a Personal Assistant, which can set a reminder before expiry; it prepares, and nothing is paid without your approval.

Questions people ask

How much is driver's licence in Enugu now?

FRSC fees reported in June 2025 were ₦15,000 for 3 years and ₦21,000 for 5 years. Fees are national, so check the current amount on the FRSC portal before paying.

Where can I do driver's licence in Enugu?

Apply online on the FRSC portal, then choose an Enugu licensing centre for verification and capture. Confirm the centre address and hours when you book.

How long does driver's licence take in Enugu?

Capture is done at the centre visit; a temporary slip may be issued and the permanent card produced later. Ask the centre for its current collection time.

Can I renew my driver's licence online?

You start renewal online with the application and payment, but you still attend a centre for capture.
