Meet Eva, the assistant inside the Pryme app. She holds dollars, pounds, euros and Naira side by side, swaps at a locked rate, pays bills in any of them and sends anywhere, asking before anything moves.

We give you a limit to spend at the shops and services you already use — and an account that works on your month while you get on with it. Dollars, pounds and euros sit beside your Naira, and an assistant handles the running of it, asking you first every single time.

You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

No card, no OTP, nothing for the buyer to type in. They transfer from the bank app they already use, and the money lands in the same account your agents are running — already matched to the order, already in your books.

An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Can you use a Zenith Bank naira card abroad or on foreign websites, how much can you spend, and where Zenith publishes the cap.
Zenith Bank naira cards can be used for international payments, and Nairametrics reported on 7 September 2026 that Zenith allows up to $50,000 a year on its naira cards. Zenith had not published the cap on a page we could open, and the report does not split it between POS, online and ATM use, so confirm your own card's limit with Zenith before you travel.
For years the question of whether a Nigerian naira card works abroad had a short answer: barely. Through the foreign exchange shortage, banks cut international limits on naira cards to small monthly sums and some stopped foreign ATM withdrawals altogether. In 2026 that has been changing, and Zenith Bank is one of the banks that has raised its cap. This guide sets out what has been reported, what Zenith itself publishes, and how to check the figure that applies to your card.
On 7 September 2026 Nairametrics reported that several Nigerian banks had raised dollar spending limits on naira cards as FX scarcity eased. For Zenith, the report says the bank currently allows up to $50,000 annually on its naira cards for international transactions. It is an annual figure, not a monthly or quarterly one, which matters when you compare banks.
| Bank (as reported 7 Sep 2026) | Naira card international limit | Period |
|---|---|---|
| Zenith Bank | Up to $50,000 | Per year |
| GTBank | $40,000 | Per quarter |
| FirstBank (Naira Mastercard) | $10,000 across POS and online, plus ATM up to $1,000 a day | Per quarter |
| Stanbic IBTC (Mastercard naira debit) | $8,000 | Per quarter |
The report does not say how Zenith's $50,000 is divided between card-present payments abroad (POS), online payments to foreign merchants, and cash withdrawals at foreign ATMs. It also does not give a start date for the new figure. Treat it as the reported ceiling, not as a promise that every card type gets the full amount.
Yes, subject to the limit. Zenith's own FAQ says its credit cards are accepted at any establishment displaying the Visa or Mastercard logo. Debit cards on the same schemes travel on the same networks, but whether a given foreign transaction goes through depends on three things:
When you pay in dollars, pounds or euros with a naira card, the bank debits naira at its own card exchange rate on the day the transaction settles. That rate is not the same as the official window rate and can move between the day you pay and the day it settles. Zenith does not publish a fixed card rate; check the rate shown on your alert or statement after each transaction, and expect the naira amount to differ slightly from what you estimated.
Example: you book a $400 hotel night on a foreign website. If the bank's card rate on settlement were ₦1,500 to the dollar, the debit would be ₦600,000, and $400 would come off your $50,000 annual allowance, leaving $49,600. If the rate on settlement were ₦1,520, the debit would be ₦608,000. The rates here are invented to show the arithmetic; they are not today's rates.
A naira card spends naira that is converted at the moment of use, so you carry the exchange-rate movement and you draw down the bank's international allowance. A dollar card, funded from a domiciliary account, spends dollars you already hold, so there is no conversion on each purchase. Which suits you depends on where your money arrives. If you earn in naira and travel once a year, the naira card's annual allowance may be enough. If you receive foreign income, spending it directly can be simpler than converting it to naira and back again.
If you spend abroad regularly, a naira card's cap and conversion are not the only option. A Pryme account holds NGN, USD, GBP and EUR in one place, so you can keep money in the currency you will spend and use Swap only when you choose, with the rate shown first. Our guide to spending abroad on a trip compares cards, cash and currency balances, and Zenith's dollar card is another route to compare.
Yes, a Visa or Mastercard naira card can be used abroad within the bank's international limit. Nairametrics reported a Zenith cap of up to $50,000 a year in September 2026; confirm your card's figure with Zenith.
The September 2026 report did not say whether Zenith's limit covers foreign ATM withdrawals. Call Zenith's card services line before travelling and ask whether ATM use abroad is enabled on your card.
Common reasons are an exhausted international allowance, a Verve card, an online payment not yet enabled, or a failed one-time password. Check your remaining limit and that the card is Visa or Mastercard.
The bank applies its own card rate on the day the payment settles. It is not fixed in advance; your debit alert or statement shows the naira amount actually charged.
