Ten years, one trunk

The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.

2016E-commerce

2018OjirehPrime Card

2020Microfinance bank

2023Multicurrency

More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.

2026Agentic operations

Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.

Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Supplier (vendor) registration form template for Nigeria

A copyable vendor onboarding form with CAC, Tax ID and bank fields, how to check each one, and the call-back rule that stops changed-account fraud.

The short answer

A vendor registration form collects a supplier's registered name and CAC number, Tax ID, contacts and bank details, signed by an authorised person. Check the CAC record on the free public search, the Tax ID on the JTB verification portal, and that the bank account name matches the registered name. Never accept a change of bank details without calling a contact already on file.

Why onboarding matters more than the form

Most supplier payment frauds in Nigeria do not involve a fake supplier. They involve a real supplier whose email or WhatsApp has been hijacked, or a staff member who quietly changes an account number. A vendor form only protects you if each field is checked once at the start and the bank details cannot be changed without a second check. Our guide to supplier bank details fraud covers the attack itself; this form is the defence.

The template

Section 1: Business
Registered name (exactly as on CAC certificate); trading name if different; RC or BN number; registration type (company, business name, incorporated trustees); date of registration; registered address; operating address.
Section 2: Tax
Tax ID / TIN; VAT status (registered, or small business exempt); whether the vendor is a manufacturer (affects withholding tax on goods).
Section 3: People
Directors or proprietors (names only); authorised contact for orders (name, phone, email); authorised contact for accounts and payment (name, phone, email); a landline or second number where available.
Section 4: Bank
Bank name; account number; account name (must match Section 1); attach a bank reference letter or recent statement header showing the account name.
Section 5: Goods and services
What the vendor supplies; standard credit terms; delivery areas.
Section 6: Documents attached
CAC certificate; status report or CAC public search printout; Tax ID evidence; ID of the signing director; any sector licence (e.g. NAFDAC registration for regulated products).
Section 7: Declaration
"I confirm the information is correct and that I am authorised to sign. We will notify any change of bank details only by signed letter, and we understand [buyer] will confirm any change by calling the contact in Section 3 before paying."
Section 8: Data notice
"[Buyer] uses these details to set up and pay the vendor, meet tax obligations and prevent fraud. They are kept for [six] years after the relationship ends. Contacts can ask to see or correct their details at [email]."
Internal use
CAC check by / date; Tax ID check by / date; bank name enquiry by / date; approved by (second person) / date.

How to check each field

CAC registration

The CAC public search at search.cac.gov.ng is free and needs no account, according to a Legit.ng guide (September 2026). It shows the registered name, RC or BN number, registration type, date and status. RC numbers are for companies; BN numbers are for business names. Print or screenshot the result and attach it.

Tax ID

Under the Nigeria Tax Administration Act 2025, as explained by Premium Times (November 2025), people and businesses carrying on a trade had to register for a Tax ID by 1 January 2026; for individuals the NIN serves as the Tax ID, and companies' IDs are generated from CAC records. Registration is free. Techeconomy (December 2025) points to the JTB portal at tinverification.jtb.gov.ng for checking a Tax ID. You need it for invoices and for any withholding tax receipt you issue.

VAT status

Under the Nigeria Tax Act 2025, as summarised by Forvis Mazars (March 2026), a small business with turnover of ₦100 million or less and fixed assets of ₦250 million or less (professional services excluded) is exempt from registering for and charging VAT, though it may opt out. Ask the vendor which applies so you know whether VAT on their invoice is expected.

Bank account

Do a name enquiry by starting a transfer in your banking app and stopping before you send. The name returned should match the registered name in Section 1. A company supplier paid into an individual's account is the first red flag.

Review once a year

Run the CAC search and name enquiry again for active vendors each year, and remove vendors you have not used in twelve months from your payment list. A dormant vendor record with live bank details is an easy target for anyone who wants to slip in a payment.

The changed-account rule

  1. Accept a change of bank details only on a signed letter, never by email or message alone.
  2. Call the accounts contact on the number already in Section 3, not a number in the letter.
  3. Run a name enquiry on the new account; it must match the registered name.
  4. A second person approves the change in your records.
  5. Tell the vendor's orders contact separately that the change has been made.

Example only. A Lagos school pays a uniform supplier ₦1,850,000 each term. An email arrives from the supplier's address with a new account at a different bank. The bursar calls the number on file; the supplier's accountant says they sent nothing. The cost of the call: two minutes. The cost of skipping it: one term's payment.

Where Pryme fits

On a Pryme Business Account, the Compliance agent can prepare the vendor checks as a checklist and the Finance agent can flag a payment going to an account that differs from the one on file. Payments through bulk payouts need a person's approval above a set ceiling. Pair this form with our supplier agreement template.

Questions people ask

How do I verify a supplier's CAC registration?

Search the name or RC/BN number on search.cac.gov.ng. It is free and shows the registered name, number, type, date and status.

How can I check a company's TIN in Nigeria?

Use the JTB verification portal at tinverification.jtb.gov.ng. Companies' Tax IDs are generated from CAC records.

Should I pay a supplier into a personal account?

For a registered company, no. The account name should match the CAC name. Treat a personal account as a red flag and confirm by phone.

What if my supplier is not VAT registered?

Under the 2025 tax law, small businesses below the turnover and asset thresholds are exempt from VAT registration. Ask the vendor to confirm their status on the form.
