Ten years, one trunk

The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.

2016E-commerce

An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.

2018OjirehPrime Card

A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.

2020Microfinance bank

PrymeSolid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.

2023Multicurrency

More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.

2026Agentic operations

Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.

Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Make money

Side hustles that pay daily in Nigeria

POS agency, delivery, ride-hailing, food and errands: what each pays per day, the daily costs, and how to manage daily money.

The short answer

Side hustles that pay daily in Nigeria include POS agency, food delivery riding, ride-hailing, selling cooked food and errands. Daily cash is not daily profit: a POS agent's ₦200 fee loses the provider's charge, Bolt says it takes 20% of Lagos fares, and food sellers buy ingredients every morning, so count daily costs before choosing.

What 'pays daily' really means

A hustle that pays daily puts money in your hand or account the same day you work. That matters if you cannot wait a month for a salary or 30 days for a client invoice. But daily cash is not daily profit. Most daily-pay hustles in Nigeria have daily costs too (fuel, float, ingredients, commission), and the money that arrives each evening has to cover those before it is yours. Every figure below is either sourced and dated or labelled as an example; work out your own daily costs before you commit.

The main options

POS agency

Customers pay you a fee to withdraw cash, transfer money or pay bills, and you earn the difference between what you charge and what your provider charges you. Profit lands with every transaction.

  • What agents charge: Techpoint reported in January 2025 that Lagos and Enugu agents charged ₦150–₦200 to withdraw up to ₦5,000 and ₦200 for ₦5,000–₦10,000, and that there is no CBN cap on agent fees.
  • What the provider takes: BusinessDay reported in July 2023 that the OPay and Moniepoint charge on a ₦10,000 withdrawal had risen to ₦60, so an agent charging ₦200 kept ₦140. Provider charges have changed since; check your provider's current schedule.
  • Costs: terminal (lease or purchase), float, paper rolls, a location and security for the cash.

Example only: 40 withdrawals a day with an average margin of ₦120 is ₦4,800 a day before float costs, rent and the risk of fake alerts.

Food delivery riding

Riders are paid by completed deliveries. Chowdeck's chief executive said in September 2026 that riders "earn an average of N100,000 per week", paid by deliveries and by kilometres, with riders maintaining their own bicycles; that is his figure, not an independent audit. Platforms set their own payout schedules, so check how often earnings move to your bank in the rider app before you sign up.

Example only: a rider earning ₦18,000 a day in deliveries who spends ₦4,000 on fuel and ₦1,000 on data clears ₦13,000, before maintenance and repairs.

Ride-hailing

Drivers on Bolt collect cash fares or receive card fares into their driver balance. BusinessDay reported in February 2026 that Bolt's commission is 20% in Lagos and 21% in Abuja, a figure some drivers dispute. Bolt's Nigeria driver guide lists the documents needed, including a valid driver's licence, vehicle licence, roadworthiness certificate and ID, plus LASSRA and LASDRI cards in Lagos. Uber ended its Nigerian service on 2 September 2026, Al Jazeera reported, so check which platforms operate in your city.

Example only: ₦40,000 of fares in a day less 20% commission (₦8,000) and ₦12,000 fuel leaves ₦20,000, before car maintenance, loan or hire-purchase payments and data.

Food and snacks

Selling cooked food, small chops, roasted corn, zobo or breakfast near offices, schools, markets and bus stops pays in cash or transfer every day. Costs are daily too: ingredients, gas or charcoal, packaging, and often a space fee or levy. Hygiene matters more than price for repeat buyers: clean containers, covered food and a fixed spot where regulars can find you. Check with your local government or market association what permits or levies apply before you set up.

Example only: 60 plates at ₦1,500 brings ₦90,000; ingredients, gas and packaging at ₦60,000 leaves ₦30,000 for the day's work, before any levy or assistant's pay.

Daily-paid labour and services

Errands, laundry pick-up, cleaning, car washing, loading at markets and help at events are often paid on completion. They need little capital and pay the same day, but earnings depend on demand each day.

Comparing them

HustleExample daily grossExample daily costsCapital needed
POS agency₦4,800 margin on 40 withdrawalsFloat cost, rent, paperTerminal plus float

Ride-hailing₦40,000 fares₦8,000 commission + ₦12,000 fuelA qualifying car
Food selling₦90,000 sales₦60,000 ingredients and packagingCooking equipment, a spot
Errands and cleaning₦5,000–₦15,000TransportVery little

Managing daily money

  1. Separate the day's takings into three parts each night: tomorrow's costs (fuel, float, ingredients), savings, and your pay.
  2. Never spend float or ingredient money as income.
  3. Confirm transfers have landed before handing over cash or goods.
  4. Write down daily totals, even in a notebook. After a month you will know your real daily profit.
  5. Set aside money weekly for repairs and slow days.

For managing irregular pay, see budgeting when paid weekly or daily.

Where Pryme fits

Daily earners benefit from moving the savings part out of reach each evening. Savings Boxes hold naira apart from spending money, and the Personal Assistant can prompt a daily transfer, which you approve. Small businesses can also open a business account for customer transfers.

Questions people ask

Which business pays daily in Nigeria?

POS agency, food delivery riding, ride-hailing, selling cooked food or snacks, and errands or cleaning all pay the same day. Each has daily costs that come off the takings.

How much do POS agents make a day?

It depends on volume and margins. Techpoint reported agents charging ₦150–₦200 for small withdrawals in January 2025, and the provider takes its own charge from that.

How much do Chowdeck riders earn?

Chowdeck's CEO said in September 2026 that riders average ₦100,000 a week, paid by deliveries and kilometres. That is the company's figure; fuel and maintenance are the rider's cost.

What is Bolt's commission in Nigeria?

BusinessDay reported in February 2026 that Bolt's commission is 20% in Lagos and 21% in Abuja; some drivers dispute this. Check the driver app.
