Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

The sales promise register: tracking what you committed

Delivery dates, free extras and special terms promised to win a deal often get lost. Why a promise register matters and how an agent keeps it.

The short answer

A sales promise register is a record of every commitment made to a customer to win or keep a deal, such as a delivery date, a free extra, a price hold or a special payment term, with who made it and when. An AI agent can capture these from conversations automatically, so the people who must keep the promise can see it.

Every salesperson makes promises. 'We can start on the 3rd.' 'I will throw in the first month free.' 'We will hold this price until March.' Most are reasonable, and most are made in emails, calls or chat messages that nobody else in the business reads. The customer remembers them. Your operations team often does not know they exist. The gap between those two is where complaints, disputes and lost renewals begin.

What belongs in a promise register

A promise is anything the customer could reasonably expect you to do that is not already in your standard terms. Typical entries:

  • Delivery or start dates.
  • Free extras, trial periods or additional services.
  • Price holds or locked rates for future orders.
  • Non-standard payment terms, such as 60 days instead of 30.
  • Service levels, such as response times or named contacts.
  • Custom work, features or changes to be delivered later.
  • Commitments about renewals, such as no price rise next year.

Each entry should record the customer, the promise in plain words, who made it, when, the source (the email or note), who must deliver it and by when.

Why promises go missing

Promises get lost for ordinary reasons. They are made in the moment, under pressure to close, and recorded nowhere except the conversation. The person who made them may leave. The team who must deliver may never hear of them until the customer complains. And promises that are not tracked cannot be priced: a free month given to every customer is a discount, but it rarely shows up as one.

There is also a legal dimension. Statements made to win a contract can become part of it or create liability if they turn out to be untrue. The Air Canada chatbot case in 2024, where a tribunal held the airline to information its chatbot had given, is a reminder that what your business tells customers, by whatever channel, can be relied on. In the UK, for example, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 provides that information given to a consumer about a service can in some cases be treated as a term of the contract. Rules vary by country, so take advice on how your own sales statements are treated.

How an AI agent keeps the register

  1. Capture. The agent reads sales conversations and proposals and extracts anything that looks like a commitment.
  2. Confirm. It asks the person who made the promise to confirm the wording, or flags it if it is ambiguous.
  3. Check feasibility. Where it can see capacity or delivery schedules, it flags promises that clash with existing commitments.
  4. Route. It sends the promise to the team or agent responsible for keeping it.
  5. Track. It follows each promise to completion and warns before a due date is missed.
  6. Refuse. It should decline to make promises it has no basis for, such as a delivery date nobody has accepted.

The last point matters most. A good sales agent does not only record promises; it avoids making ones the business has not agreed to keep.

Put a cost on promises

Some promises cost money: a free month, extra hours, faster delivery that needs overtime. Recording an estimated cost for each one turns the register into a management tool. At the end of a quarter you can see how much was given away to win business, which salesperson or channel gives away most, and whether those deals were more or less profitable than others. Many owners are surprised by the total, not because any single promise was unreasonable but because nobody had added them up.

The cost does not have to be precise. A rough figure, agreed with the finance side, is enough to show patterns. An agent can attach the estimate when it captures the promise and ask the owner to adjust it if it looks wrong.

A worked example

Illustrative. A Leeds catering company wins a corporate contract after its sales lead agrees by email to provide vegan options at no extra cost and to hold the per-head price for twelve months. Both promises go into the register, owned by the kitchen manager and the finance lead respectively. Four months later, ingredient prices rise and the finance lead prepares a price increase for all corporate clients. The register flags this client as price-held until next August, so the increase is not sent. A potentially damaging dispute is avoided by a single line in a list.

The same register showed, at the year-end review, that free vegan options had been promised to six corporate clients and cost the kitchen about 3% of food spend on those contracts. The owner decided that was worth it and made it standard, which removed it from the register altogether.

Where Pryme fits

The Pryme Sales agent keeps the register of what sales promised on the company's behalf and refuses to promise a delivery date no agent has accepted. The Chief of Staff holds every promise the company has made across functions and routes each one to the agent that must keep it, such as Finance for payment terms. Every action is recorded on an audit trail; see what to record and managing renewals, where old promises often resurface.

Questions people ask

What is a sales promise register?

A list of commitments made to customers beyond your standard terms, with who made them, the source, who must deliver and by when.

Is a promise in an email legally binding?

It can be, depending on the circumstances and the law where you trade. Take advice, and assume customers will rely on what you put in writing.

How is this different from a CRM note?

A note sits on one deal and is easily missed. A register is a single list, owned and tracked, that the delivery team can see.

Can the AI agent make promises itself?

Only within rules you set. It should refuse commitments that depend on another team unless that team has confirmed them.
