You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Illustrative yearly rents for a self-contained room up to a three-bedroom flat in five Ilorin areas, and why Tanke and the GRA price so differently.
Ilorin rents are paid yearly and vary mainly by area, building age, power supply and water. As a labelled example, a self-contained room in student areas such as Tanke or Oke-Odo may cost a few hundred thousand naira a year, while a three-bedroom flat in the GRA can cost several times more. No official rent register exists, so check listings and ask neighbours before you agree a figure.
Rent in Ilorin, as in most Nigerian cities, is agreed between landlord and tenant and usually paid one year in advance, sometimes two for new tenants. There is no public rent register for Kwara, so the only way to know a fair figure is to compare several similar units in the same area. The figures below are examples to help you plan, not survey data.
| Area | Self-contained room | 1-bedroom flat | 2-bedroom flat | 3-bedroom flat |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tanke | ₦250,000 – ₦450,000 | ₦450,000 – ₦800,000 | ₦700,000 – ₦1.2m | ₦1m – ₦1.6m |
| Oke-Odo | ₦200,000 – ₦400,000 | ₦400,000 – ₦700,000 | ₦600,000 – ₦1m | ₦900,000 – ₦1.4m |
| Fate | ₦300,000 – ₦500,000 | ₦500,000 – ₦900,000 | ₦800,000 – ₦1.4m | ₦1.2m – ₦2m |
| Adewole | ₦200,000 – ₦400,000 | ₦400,000 – ₦700,000 | ₦600,000 – ₦1m | ₦900,000 – ₦1.5m |
| GRA | Rare | ₦700,000 – ₦1.2m | ₦1.2m – ₦2.5m | ₦2m – ₦4m |
Tanke and Oke-Odo are commonly described as student areas because they sit on the routes towards the University of Ilorin, and many tenants are students and young workers. That creates steady demand for single rooms and self-contained units, many in newer multi-unit buildings. Rents rise each year around the start of a new academic session, when demand peaks. Units are smaller, and power often depends on a shared meter.
The GRA is generally described as having larger plots, older detached houses and flats, and quieter streets. Tenants are more often senior civil servants, professionals and businesses. Landlords price for space, security and parking, and fewer small units are built there, so a self-contained room in the GRA is uncommon.
Fate is often described as having newer estates and flats that attract families and young professionals, so its rents for flats can approach GRA levels. Adewole is generally seen as an older, established residential area where rents for similar units are often lower.
A two-bedroom flat in Fate at ₦1,000,000 a year is ₦1,000,000 ÷ 12 ≈ ₦83,300 a month. If your household take-home pay is ₦300,000 a month, rent takes about 28% of it, before electricity, water and transport. A similar flat in Adewole at ₦800,000 a year is about ₦66,700 a month, around 22% of the same income. The ₦200,000 yearly difference is about ₦16,700 a month, which may or may not cover the extra transport to work from a cheaper area.
Rent increases usually come at renewal. Landlords commonly cite rising costs of repairs, power and materials. Your tenancy agreement should say how much notice you get of a new rent and when the renewal date falls. If a landlord proposes a large rise, ask what has changed, compare with similar units nearby, and negotiate before the old year ends. In student areas, the start of a new academic session is when demand and rents are highest, so renewing or moving at another time of year can give you more room to bargain. Keep every rent receipt; it is your proof of what you paid and when.
Saving a year's rent is easier when it sits apart from daily spending. A Fixed Savings Box holds naira until a date you choose (Savings Boxes; rates in the app). If a landlord asks for proof of income, a verifiable statement made with VerifyDoc.ai lets them confirm it is genuine (verifiable statements).
As a labelled example, a self-contained room in Tanke may cost roughly ₦250,000 to ₦450,000 a year. Rents vary by building and rise around new academic sessions; compare several units.
In our labelled examples, Oke-Odo and Adewole tend to be cheaper than Fate and the GRA for similar units, but check water, power and transport costs too.
As a labelled example, ₦2m to ₦4m a year depending on the building and services. Ask the agent for the full upfront cost as well.
Many ask for one year in advance; some ask new tenants for more. It is a matter of agreement, so negotiate and get it in writing.
