You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

Resolved 4 conversations — two deliveries, one refund. The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.
An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Under the Nigeria Tax Act 2025, minimum-wage earners pay no PAYE. The ₦70,000 threshold, the ₦800,000 zero band and what employers still file.
No. Under the Nigeria Tax Act 2025, in force from 1 January 2026, employment income of a person earning the national minimum wage or less is exempt from income tax, so no PAYE should be deducted. The national minimum wage is ₦70,000 a month under the National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Act 2024, signed on 29 July 2024.
The Nigeria Tax Act 2025 lists exempt income. A Mondaq summary by Adeola Oyinlade & Co (5 January 2026) puts the rule plainly: income from employment is exempt where the person earns the national minimum wage or less. The Act took effect on 1 January 2026 after being signed in June 2025.
The threshold is tied to the national minimum wage, not to a separate tax figure. The National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Act 2024 raised the wage from ₦30,000 to ₦70,000 a month and set a review every three years. If the minimum wage is raised again, the exemption moves with it.
The first ₦800,000 of annual taxable income is taxed at 0% for everyone, as BusinessDay reported on 12 January 2026. A minimum-wage salary is ₦840,000 a year, which is ₦40,000 above the zero band. Without the exemption, that ₦40,000 would fall into the 15% band.
| Without the exemption | With the exemption | |
|---|---|---|
| Annual pay | ₦840,000 | ₦840,000 |
| Taxed at 0% | ₦800,000 | All of it (exempt) |
| Taxed at 15% | ₦40,000 | ₦0 |
| Annual tax | ₦6,000 | ₦0 |
| Monthly PAYE | ₦500 | ₦0 |
Example only. In practice, an employee in the pension scheme would have 8% pension deducted, which is a relief, so taxable income would be lower in any case. The table shows why the exemption, not the band alone, is what takes a minimum-wage earner fully out of PAYE.
Several states have approved minimum wages for their own workers above the national figure, for example ₦80,000 for Enugu State workers, approved in October 2024 according to the Federal Ministry of Information. The exemption, as summarised, refers to the national minimum wage. A worker on a state minimum wage above ₦70,000 earns more than the national figure, so the general bands apply to them. Check with the state revenue service if you employ staff on a state scale.
PwC's tax summary for Nigeria (reviewed 29 May 2026) notes that taxpayers earning the minimum wage or less must still file returns, whether or not tax is due. An exemption from tax is not an exemption from filing.
If tax was taken from a minimum-wage salary after 1 January 2026, the employer should stop the deduction and correct it, either by refunding the employee and adjusting the next remittance or by agreeing the correction with the state revenue service. Employees should keep payslips showing the deduction and raise it in writing.
The exemption is about earnings, so the comparison is with what the person actually earns from employment. A part-time cleaner on ₦40,000 a month earns below the national minimum wage, and the same exemption logic applies. Daily-paid staff should be looked at over the year: someone paid ₦3,000 a day for 22 days a month earns ₦66,000 a month, or ₦792,000 a year (example only), which is below both the minimum wage and the ₦800,000 zero band.
Watch for staff with two jobs. The exemption applies to the person's income, and an employee who also earns elsewhere may have a liability on their own annual return even if each employer's payroll shows nil tax. That is for the employee to report on the individual return, not for each employer to guess.
An employee on ₦70,000 or less can check three lines on a 2026 payslip: gross pay, pension deduction (if any) and tax. Tax should read nil. If it does not, ask the employer which rule it applied and keep the payslip as evidence.
On a Pryme Business Account, the Finance agent can flag staff whose pay sits at or below the threshold so their nil PAYE is shown correctly in each run, for your approval. For the full band table see PAYE tax bands for 2026, and for the wage itself, the minimum wage and who it covers.
No. Under the Nigeria Tax Act 2025, from 1 January 2026 employment income at or below the national minimum wage is exempt.
The first ₦800,000 of annual taxable income is taxed at 0%, and minimum-wage earners are exempt entirely.
Not if it is the person's whole employment income: ₦70,000 a month is the national minimum wage, which is exempt under the Nigeria Tax Act 2025.
PwC's summary says yes, those earning the minimum wage or less must still file.
