Ten years, one trunk

The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.

2016E-commerce

2018OjirehPrime Card

2020Microfinance bank

2023Multicurrency

More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.

2026Agentic operations

Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.

Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Error on your passport data page: how to get it corrected

How to correct a wrong name, date of birth or other detail on a Nigerian passport data page: the NIS route, documents, ₦30,000 charge and timeline.

The short answer

NIS corrects data-page errors through a correction of data application on the portal, with a non-refundable administrative charge of ₦30,000 under its April 2026 Service Level Agreement, an application letter, newspaper publication, court affidavit and supporting certificates. The SLA targets 21 days from enrolment and does not set out a separate fee-free route for errors NIS itself made, so raise those with SERVICOM at the issuing office.

A wrong letter in your name, a swapped day and month in your date of birth or the wrong state of origin can cause trouble at airports, embassies and banks, because every other document will disagree with your passport. The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has a defined route for correcting these errors. This guide covers where errors come from, the official correction process, what it costs and what to do if you believe NIS caused the error.

First, find where the error came from

The NIS portal pulls your personal details from your NIN record. That means an error on your data page usually comes from one of three places:

Source of errorExampleWhere to fix it
Your NIN recordDate of birth wrong at NIMCCorrect the NIN record with NIMC first, then apply to NIS
Your applicationYou uploaded the wrong certificateNIS correction of data route
Printing or processingData correct on NIN and application, wrong in bookletRaise with the issuing office's SERVICOM desk, then the correction route if needed

If your NIN record is wrong, fixing the passport alone will not help: the next renewal will pull the same error back. See do you need a NIN for a passport.

The official correction route

The NIS Service Level Agreement (SLA, April 2026) lists "correction of error(s)" as a service with these steps and documents:

  1. Pay the non-refundable administrative charge online through the portal
  2. Upload your birth certificate or declaration of age
  3. Upload an application letter stating the reason for the correction
  4. Upload a newspaper publication of the correction
  5. Upload your state of origin certificate
  6. Upload a court affidavit
  7. Upload your current passport data page
  8. Book and attend biometrics with your current passport booklet

The NIS passports page lists the same documents for corrections and confirms the charge is non-refundable. Name replacement, addition, deletion or rearrangement follows the same process. A change after marriage also needs a marriage certificate; see changing your name on a passport.

Cost and timeline

ItemFigure (NIS SLA, April 2026)
Correction of data administrative charge₦30,000, non-refundable
Turnaround21 days from enrolment, where there is no local objection (NLO)

Diaspora applicants apply for corrections through their embassy or high commission. Fees can change, so check the NIS website before paying; booklet fees are in Nigerian passport fees in 2026. Your other costs, such as the affidavit and newspaper notice, are paid to third parties and vary.

Worked example: total cost of a correction

Example only. Chioma's date of birth is wrong on her passport. She pays the NIS charge of ₦30,000. If her sworn affidavit costs ₦3,000 and a newspaper publication ₦10,000, her total is ₦30,000 + ₦3,000 + ₦10,000 = ₦43,000. The affidavit and newspaper figures are illustrations, not quoted prices.

If NIS made the error

The SLA does not set out a separate free route for errors caused by NIS, and the pages we checked in October 2026 do not say the charge is waived in that case. If your NIN record and your uploaded documents were correct and the booklet still shows wrong data, take your application slip, NIN slip and the booklet to the SERVICOM desk officer at the office that issued it, and put the complaint in writing to nis.servicom@nigeriaimmigration.gov.ng. Ask in writing whether the correction can be processed without the administrative charge. The SLA commits NIS to respond to complaints within three working days. See NIS passport complaints.

Errors that are not errors

Some apparent mistakes are format differences. Your passport prints names in the order and spelling held on your NIN record, and a missing middle name or a shortened form may reflect what NIMC holds rather than a printing fault. Compare the booklet with your NIN slip first. If the two agree, the issue lies with your NIN record and the fix starts at NIMC, not NIS. If they disagree, NIS printed something other than what it pulled, and the SERVICOM route above is the right first step.

Spotting errors early

  • Check your details on the portal's review screen before you pay; the NIS refund policy says errors found after payment are not refundable
  • Check the data page the moment you collect, at the counter
  • Compare against your NIN slip, birth certificate and any visa you hold

What to check first

  1. Is the error on your NIN record? Fix that first
  2. Do you have the court affidavit and newspaper publication ready?
  3. Have you kept your current booklet? You need it at biometrics
  4. Did NIS cause it? Raise it with SERVICOM before paying

Where Pryme fits

Banks and fintechs match your name across your ID documents, so a corrected passport may need updating with them too. On Pryme, you can update your details through support.
