Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Loans

PalmPay Flexi Cash and Flexi Wallet: what they are and who lends

Flexi is the name PalmPay uses for credit inside its app. What each feature does, why the lender may not be PalmPay, and what the registers show.

The short answer

Flexi Cash is the credit feature inside the PalmPay app that pays a loan into your wallet, and Flexi Wallet refers to the credit balance shown alongside your ordinary balance; both are offered only to users the lender assesses as eligible. PalmPay is a payments company, so the credit is provided by the lending institution named in the Flexi terms; we did not find PalmPay by name on the FCCPC approved digital lenders list in October 2026, so read those terms before you accept.

What the Flexi names mean

PalmPay uses the "Flexi" label for its credit features. The details and wording change with app updates, so treat the in-app description as the final word. In general terms:

Flexi Cash
A cash loan. When accepted, money is paid into your PalmPay balance and repaid by a due date or in instalments.
Flexi Wallet
The place in the app where your available credit and what you owe are shown, separate from your own money.
Eligibility
Decided by the lender’s assessment of your account use and credit history. Not every user sees an offer.

Keep the two balances apart in your head. Money in a credit wallet is borrowed, and spending it creates a debt with a cost, even though it sits on the same screen as your salary.

Who lends

PalmPay provides payments, transfers and bills. When it shows credit, the lender is the institution named in the Flexi terms and conditions, which you should read before accepting. If that institution is a bank or microfinance bank, it must hold a CBN licence; search its name on the CBN supervised institutions directory. If it is a finance or digital lending company, search the FCCPC list.

What the registers showed in October 2026

  • FCCPC Approvals of DMLs (page modified 3 March 2026): no entry found under PalmPay.
  • Similar name: a "PalmCash App" appears on the list under another company. It is not PalmPay Flexi Cash.
  • Also unrelated: PalmCredit is a separate loan app; see Is PalmCredit legit?.

We could not determine from the register whether credit provided through a CBN-licensed partner is expected to appear on the FCCPC list. If that matters to your decision, ask PalmPay which institution lends and under which registration, in writing.

How a Flexi Cash loan runs

  1. An offer shows in the app with the amount, the tenor or instalments and the repayment due.
  2. You read the terms and accept, or decline.
  3. The money arrives in your PalmPay balance.
  4. Repayment is collected on the due dates from your balance or by the method in the terms.
  5. After full repayment, a new offer may appear, sometimes for a different amount.

Worked example: instalments versus a single repayment (illustrative)

Offer one: ₦60,000, repay ₦69,000 in one sum after 30 days. Offer two: ₦60,000, repay three monthly instalments of ₦22,500. Offer one costs ₦9,000 over one month. Offer two costs ₦7,500 in total (₦67,500 − ₦60,000) but over three months, and you hold less of the money as each instalment is paid. Per month, offer two is cheaper; in total naira it is ₦1,500 cheaper. Our article on Flexi Cash interest rates shows where PalmPay displays its own figures.

Using credit inside a payments app wisely

Credit that sits a tap away from your everyday balance is easy to use without planning. A few habits keep it under control:

  • Decide what the money is for before accepting, and accept only the amount needed, not the full offer.
  • Note the due date in your phone calendar with a reminder two days earlier.
  • Keep the repayment amount in your PalmPay balance the day before collection, so a partial collection does not leave an overdue balance.
  • Do not take a second loan elsewhere to repay Flexi Cash; that adds a second set of charges.

Repayment history matters beyond PalmPay. Lenders in Nigeria report to licensed credit bureaus, so a missed Flexi payment can affect what a bank or another app offers you later. On the other hand, a record of borrowing modestly and repaying on time can help. Our guide to how credit bureaus work explains how to see your own report.

If you are offered a larger amount after repaying, treat it as a new decision, not a reward. The question is still whether the repayment fits your income.

Finally, check the offer each time rather than assuming the terms match your last loan. Lenders can change amounts, tenors and charges between offers, and the screen in front of you is the one that binds you.

Common problems

  • No offer showing: eligibility depends on the lender’s assessment; see Flexi Cash not showing.
  • Unexpected deductions: repayment may be collected from incoming money on the due date. See PalmPay loan customer care and debits.
  • Fake "Flexi" offers: credit appears only inside the official app. No one from PalmPay will ask you to pay a fee to receive it.

Where Pryme fits

Pryme does not put cash credit into a wallet. Loans on Spaces, lent by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank, are spent only with Spaces merchants, and the agreement is shown in full for you to accept first.

Questions people ask

What is PalmPay Flexi Cash?

It is the cash loan feature inside the PalmPay app. If you are offered it and accept, money is paid into your PalmPay balance and repaid on the dates in the terms.

Who gives PalmPay loans?

The lender is the institution named in the Flexi terms in the app. PalmPay is a payments company; check the named lender on the CBN directory or FCCPC list.

Is PalmPay Flexi Cash approved by FCCPC?

We did not find PalmPay by name on the FCCPC approved digital lenders list in October 2026. Read the Flexi terms for the lender’s name and check that name.

Is PalmCash the same as PalmPay Flexi?

No. "PalmCash App" appears on the FCCPC list under a different company.
