Ten years, one trunk

2018OjirehPrime Card

2023Multicurrency

More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.

2026Agentic operations

Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.

Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Loans

Is Zedvance legit? Licence and products

Zedvance Finance Limited says it is licensed by the CBN, and the FCCPC lists it on its waiver table. Its payroll loans, business products and channels.

The short answer

Yes. Zedvance Finance Limited states on its website that it is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria, and the FCCPC's waiver list, read in October 2026, records Zedvance Finance Limited with the Zedvance Business and Zedvance apps as licensed by the CBN. It offers private and public payroll loans, an Extra Cash product, business loans and accounts, and it warns customers to repay only into accounts named Zedvance Finance Limited.

Zedvance is best known for salary loans to employees, though it also serves businesses. Because it is a CBN-licensed firm rather than an app-only lender, the FCCPC handles it differently from most loan apps. This guide explains its status, what it offers, how to cost a payroll loan, and how to avoid fraudsters using its name, which Zedvance itself warns about.

Zedvance's licence and register status

Source (read Oct 2026)What it says
Zedvance website"Licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria"; operated by Zedvance Finance Limited
FCCPC approvals page, waiver listZedvance Finance Limited; apps: Zedvance Business and Zedvance App; remark: the company is licensed by the CBN

The FCCPC places CBN-licensed banks, microfinance banks and finance companies in a waiver table rather than its main approval list. Being there means the Commission recognises the CBN licence; consumer-protection rules on disclosure and recovery still apply. The site does not name the licence category, so if it matters to you, ask Zedvance or check the CBN's list of licensed institutions. This also corrects an earlier note in our research files that recorded Zedvance as not found on the FCCPC page. See our explainer on what the FCCPC register shows.

What Zedvance offers

Zedvance's website, read in October 2026, lists these products:

Retail
Personal account, private payroll loan, public payroll loan, Extra Cash.
Business
Business account, business loans and payment tools.
Liquidity solutions
Finance for e-commerce and trade value chains.

The company says it launched in 2014 and has disbursed more than 2,000,000 loans. Those are its own figures. The site does not publish rates or fees on its home page; your offer shows them.

Private versus public payroll loans

The split usually reflects who your employer is: private-sector companies on one side, government ministries, departments and agencies on the other. Repayment for payroll loans normally comes from your salary, which is why lenders look closely at your employer and your net pay. Ask Zedvance how repayment will be collected, whether by deduction at source or debit from your account.

Costing a payroll loan: worked example

Labelled example only, not a Zedvance price: ₦800,000 over 12 months at an example 4% a month flat costs ₦32,000 a month in interest, or ₦384,000 for the year. You repay ₦1,184,000, about ₦98,667 a month. If an example 2% fee (₦16,000) is deducted at disbursement, you receive ₦784,000 but repay the same ₦1,184,000. On a reducing balance the interest would be lower. Check whether the rate on your offer is flat, reducing or annual.

If your net pay is ₦300,000, an instalment of about ₦98,667 would take roughly a third of it. Banks such as Sterling cap salary-loan repayments at 33.3% of net pay; Zedvance's own threshold may differ, but the one-third mark is a sensible personal limit.

If your job or salary changes

A payroll loan rests on your salary continuing to arrive. If you change employer, are posted elsewhere, or your employer pays late, tell Zedvance in writing straight away. Where repayment is deducted at source, a new employer will not carry the deduction over automatically, and missed instalments can lead to late charges and a report to credit bureaus. For public-sector staff, delays in salary payment are a known risk; ask Zedvance before you accept what happens to your schedule if a month's salary is paid late. Keep a copy of your agreement and every receipt, and if you settle early, ask for a written letter confirming the loan is closed.

Before you sign, also ask whether the loan carries credit life insurance, what it costs, and whether it is included in the figure on your offer.

How to use Zedvance's real channels

Zedvance's website carries a disclaimer that its staff will never ask for a commission or personal fee to process a loan, and that customers should repay only into official accounts named "Zedvance Finance Limited".

  1. Download the Zedvance app from the store listing linked on zedvance.com.
  2. Use the contacts on the website: it lists 0700 100 1000 and an office at 65 Karimu Kotun Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, as read in October 2026.
  3. Check every repayment account name reads Zedvance Finance Limited before you transfer.
  4. Refuse anyone who asks for a fee to speed up approval; report them to Zedvance.
  5. Keep your offer letter and repayment receipts.

Read loan app harassment: your rights, and compare a bank salary loan in Sterling Bank's personal loans.

Where Pryme fits

Pryme is a technology company, not a lender. Loans on Spaces are lent by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank and can only be spent with Spaces merchants; any limit is offered from how you run your account, with the full agreement shown for you to accept. Businesses can explore payroll tools on a Pryme Business Account.
