What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

GOtv E48-32 no signal: antenna fixes

GOtv showing E48-32? What the no-signal error means, seven antenna and cable fixes in order, how to read the signal screen and when to call.

The short answer

E48-32 means the GOtv decoder is not receiving a usable signal from its aerial; it is not a payment error, so clearing errors in the app will not help. Restart the decoder, check the aerial cable and power, move the aerial higher and towards a window, watch the signal screen, then rescan channels.

E48-32 on GOtv is a no-signal message: the decoder is on but is not receiving a usable signal through the aerial. Unlike E16, it has nothing to do with payment, and clearing errors in the app will not fix it. The cause is almost always physical: the aerial, its cable, its position, or the decoder's channel list. Work through the checks below in order; most cases are fixed at the first or second step.

How GOtv reception works

A GOtv decoder receives its channels through an aerial, indoor or outdoor, from a GOtv transmitter serving your area. Anything that weakens that path, such as distance, walls, tall buildings, a loose connector or a damaged cable, lowers the signal. A signal that is merely weak tends to make the picture freeze or break into blocks; one that drops too low gives a no-signal error.

Step-by-step fixes

  1. Restart the decoder. Switch off at the wall, wait 30 seconds and switch on. This clears a frozen tuner.
  2. Check the cable. Make sure the aerial cable is pushed fully into the decoder's aerial input, not another socket, and that the connector is not loose or corroded. Look along the cable for cuts, kinks or chewed sections.
  3. Check the aerial's power. Many GOtv aerials are active and draw power from the decoder. If your decoder has an option to supply antenna power, make sure it is on.
  4. Move the aerial. For indoor aerials, try near a window facing the direction of the nearest transmitter, higher up, away from metal and other electronics. Move it a little at a time and give the signal reading a few seconds to settle.
  5. Check the signal reading. Your decoder's menu has a signal or installation screen that shows strength and quality. Use it while moving the aerial.
  6. Rescan channels. If the signal reading is good but the error persists, run a channel scan from the installation menu so the decoder rebuilds its channel list.
  7. Consider an outdoor aerial. If the indoor aerial cannot get a steady reading anywhere in the room, an outdoor aerial mounted higher and pointed at the transmitter is often the fix.

When it is not your aerial

  • Everyone nearby has lost signal: the transmitter may be down for maintenance. Ask neighbours on GOtv; if they are off too, wait and try again later.
  • After heavy wind or rain: check that an outdoor aerial has not been knocked out of line.
  • After moving house: a new area may be served by a different transmitter, or be at the edge of coverage. Rescan first, then reposition.

When to call for help

If you have restarted, checked the cable, moved the aerial and rescanned, and the reading stays at zero, the aerial, cable or decoder tuner may be faulty. Contact GOtv support through the channels in GOtv customer care and ask for an accredited installer. Tell them which steps you tried and what the signal screen showed. MultiChoice's own advice, in its June 2023 error FAQ, is that where the signal is low an installer should review the installation, and it lists faulty installation or weak signal among the causes of decoder errors. For DStv, MultiChoice's Nigeria help page links to a dealer and installer finder; for GOtv, ask support which installers it accredits in your area rather than hiring whoever is nearest.

What to check first

  • The cable is in the aerial socket and pushed fully home.
  • The aerial has power if it is an active one.
  • Neighbours on GOtv are not also off air.
  • E48-32, not E16, is the message on screen; E16 is a payment or activation issue covered in clearing GOtv E16.

Where Pryme fits

Signal problems are not a billing matter, so there is little a payment app can do. Once your picture is back, if the outage ran past your renewal date, check your balance before paying; your GOtv bills can be paid from a Pryme account (TV bills).

Questions people ask

What does E48-32 mean on GOtv?

It is a no-signal message. The decoder is on but is not receiving a usable signal from the aerial. It is not a payment error.

How do I fix GOtv no signal?

Restart the decoder, check the aerial cable and power, move the aerial towards a window and higher, then rescan channels from the installation menu.

Can I clear E48-32 with the MyGOtv app?

No. Fix Errors in the app clears account errors such as E16. E48-32 needs the aerial and signal checks.

Why does my GOtv lose signal when it rains?

Heavy wind and rain can move an outdoor aerial or affect a weak signal. Check the aerial is secure and pointing the same way, then check the signal screen.
