Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Globus Bank fixed deposit: minimum, tenors and how to open

Globus Bank publishes no fixed deposit terms online. Here is what its site does say, who to ask, and how to compare the quote you get.

The short answer

Globus Bank does not publish a fixed deposit minimum, tenor list or rate on its website as at October 2026; the accounts it lists online are savings, current, domiciliary, kiddies and non-resident accounts. To book a fixed deposit you ask the bank for a quote for your amount and tenor, through its contact centre or a branch, and get the rate, maturity instruction and early-exit terms in writing.

What Globus Bank publishes

Globus Bank is one of the younger banks on Nigeria's commercial banking scene, and its public website is short. When we read its homepage in October 2026 it listed five account types: Domiciliary, GlobusKiddies, Savings, Individual Current and Non Resident. It named the Globus Mobile app and carried the footer line "Licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria. Insured by NDIC." It did not list a fixed deposit, and it gave no minimum, tenor or rate for one.

We also looked for Globus Bank in two widely read comparison articles on fixed deposit minimums and rates, from 2023 and 2024. Neither covers it. So any figure you see quoted for a Globus Bank fixed deposit on a blog or social post is unverified unless it comes from the bank itself.

How to get a quote and open one

  1. Open, or confirm you hold, a Globus Bank savings or current account, since a fixed deposit is normally funded from an account at the same bank.
  2. Call or email the contact centre. TechCabal's May 2026 directory lists 0201 466 1000, 0201 225 9000 and contactcenter@globusbank.com, and notes no WhatsApp line.
  3. State the exact amount and the period you can lock it for, and ask for the rate for that combination, per year, in writing.
  4. Ask what tenors are available, whether interest is paid at maturity or periodically, and whether it can be paid upfront.
  5. Ask the early-liquidation rule: whether interest is forfeited in full or in part, and whether there is a charge on top.
  6. Give a maturity instruction when you book, then keep the deposit advice or certificate.

Comparing the quote you receive

Without a public rate card, your best protection is to compare like with like. Get quotes on the same amount and the same tenor from two or three banks on the same day. Then compare the money, not just the percentage.

Example only, with illustrative rates. Globus quotes you 15% a year for 91 days or 16% a year for 182 days on ₦3,000,000.

OptionCalculationGross interest
91 days at 15%₦3,000,000 × 15% × 91 ÷ 365₦112,191.78
182 days at 16%₦3,000,000 × 16% × 182 ÷ 365₦239,342.47
Two 91-day bookings at 15%, principal only rolled₦112,191.78 × 2₦224,383.56

The longer booking earns ₦14,958.91 more than two short ones at the same 15%, but only if rates do not rise in between and you do not need the money at the three-month mark. The shorter tenor keeps a decision point. Our guide to choosing a 30, 90, 180 or 365-day tenor walks through that trade-off, and negotiating a fixed deposit rate covers how to ask for a better price on a larger sum.

Questions to ask about the product itself

Because there is no product sheet to read, it is worth asking Globus Bank to describe the deposit in its own words before you hand over money. A short list keeps the conversation focused:

  • What is the product called, and is there a written term sheet or booking advice I can keep?
  • Is the deposit booked in my name alone, or can it be joint, and who can instruct the bank at maturity?
  • Can I add money to a running deposit, or must each top-up be a new booking?
  • Can the deposit be used as security for a loan or overdraft if I need cash before maturity?
  • How will I be told that maturity is approaching, and by which channel?

Answers in writing, by email from the contact centre address or on the bank's letterhead, are worth more than answers given over the phone. If anything you are told differs from what is later printed on your booking advice, the booking advice is the document to rely on, so read it on the day you receive it and raise any mismatch straight away.

Safety and deposit insurance

Globus Bank states on its site that it is licensed by the CBN and insured by the NDIC. The NDIC's FAQ says deposit money banks are covered up to ₦5,000,000 per depositor, and that all your balances at one bank, including a fixed deposit and its accrued interest, are added together for that limit. Microfinance banks have a lower limit of ₦2,000,000. You can confirm a bank's category in the NDIC's insured-banks directory; our guide to whether fixed deposits are NDIC-insured explains the aggregation rule.

What to check first

  • That the quote names the product, amount, tenor and rate, and is dated.
  • Whether the rate is per year and fixed for the term.
  • When interest is paid and whether tax is deducted before it is credited.
  • The early-exit rule and the maturity default.
  • Your total at Globus Bank against the NDIC limit, if you hold large balances there.

Where Pryme fits

If you would rather see the terms before you speak to anyone, a Pryme Fixed Savings Box shows the rate in the app before you lock naira for the period you choose.

Questions people ask

Does Globus Bank have fixed deposit?

Its website does not list one as at October 2026; it lists savings, current, domiciliary, kiddies and non-resident accounts. Ask the bank directly, since many banks book fixed deposits through account officers without a public page.

What is the minimum for Globus Bank fixed deposit?

Globus Bank does not publish a minimum, and the comparison articles we checked do not cover it. Ask the contact centre for the minimum that applies to the rate you are quoted.

How do I contact Globus Bank about investment?

TechCabal's May 2026 directory lists 0201 466 1000, 0201 225 9000 and contactcenter@globusbank.com.

Is Globus Bank safe for fixed deposit?

Globus Bank says it is licensed by the CBN and insured by the NDIC. NDIC cover for deposit money banks is ₦5,000,000 per depositor across all your accounts at that bank.
