AI agents for business finance: what they can and can't do
What AI agents can do in bookkeeping, close, collections and compliance today, where a person must stay in charge, and how to judge a product.
Meet Eva, the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals and follows up. Nothing leaves your account without your approval.
Meet Eva, the assistant inside the Pryme app. She holds dollars, pounds, euros and Naira side by side, swaps at a locked rate, pays bills in any of them and sends anywhere, asking before anything moves.

We give you a limit to spend at the shops and services you already use — and an account that works on your month while you get on with it. Dollars, pounds and euros sit beside your Naira, and an assistant handles the running of it, asking you first every single time.
One global account for your money and business. Move across currencies, automate everyday operations and put AI agents to work — with you in control of every important decision.

BruceCareYour competitor down the road sells the same thing you sell. The difference is who walks in. We put money in people’s hands that can only be spent in businesses like yours — and then we point them at you.
You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

No card, no OTP, nothing for the buyer to type in. They transfer from the bank app they already use, and the money lands in the same account your agents are running — already matched to the order, already in your books.
We give the buyer a one-time account number. They transfer to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in.

Resolved 4 conversations — two deliveries, one refund. The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.
An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Every DStv price revision we could verify since 2022, with announced figures, effective dates, the tribunal orders and the FCCPC charges.
MultiChoice announced DStv increases due on 1 April 2022, 1 May 2024 (Premium ₦29,500 to ₦37,000) and 1 March 2025 (Compact ₦19,000, Compact Plus ₦30,000, Premium ₦44,500). The 2022 and 2024 rises were restrained by the Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal, which fined MultiChoice ₦150 million in June 2024, and the FCCPC filed charges over the 2025 rise.
MultiChoice Nigeria has tried to raise DStv and GOtv prices several times in the last few years, and almost every attempt has ended up before a regulator or a tribunal. This page sets out the revisions we could verify from dated reports and official filings, the prices announced each time, and the points where reports disagree. Where we could not find a dated source for a revision, we have left it out rather than fill the gap from memory.
| Announced | Due to take effect | What was announced | What happened next |
|---|---|---|---|
| Late March 2022 | 1 April 2022 | An increase in tariffs (no package prices in the report we opened) | Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal restrained it on 31 March 2022 pending a hearing |
| 24 April 2024 | 1 May 2024 | Premium ₦29,500 to ₦37,000; Compact Plus ₦19,800 to ₦25,000; Compact ₦12,500 to ₦15,700 | Tribunal stopped it on 29 April 2024; on 7 June 2024 it fined MultiChoice ₦150 million and ordered a free month |
| 24 February 2025 | 1 March 2025 | Compact ₦19,000; Compact Plus ₦30,000; Premium ₦44,500 | FCCPC told MultiChoice on 27 February 2025 to hold prices; it then filed criminal charges at the Federal High Court, Lagos |
On 31 March 2022 the Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal, sitting in Abuja, granted an ex parte order stopping MultiChoice Nigeria from carrying out an increase that was due on 1 April 2022. The suit, numbered CCPT/OP/1/2022, was filed by Festus Onifade, a lawyer, for himself and the Coalition of Nigeria Consumers, with MultiChoice as first respondent and the FCCPC as second. The tribunal told MultiChoice to keep the status quo until the motion on notice was heard, and adjourned to 11 April. The ICIR report gives no package prices, so we cannot say from that source what the 2022 increase would have been.
On 24 April 2024 MultiChoice announced new DStv and GOtv prices from 1 May 2024, citing economic conditions. The report we opened lists these DStv changes:
We worked out those percentages ourselves from the naira figures; the same report prints lower percentages for Compact Plus and Compact that do not match its own numbers. For GOtv, the 2024 announcement moved Supa Plus from ₦12,500 to ₦15,700, Supa from ₦7,600 to ₦9,600, Max from ₦5,700 to ₦7,200 and Jolli from ₦3,950 to ₦4,850. The GOtv side has its own page in our GOtv price history.
On 29 April 2024 the tribunal stopped the increase. MultiChoice challenged the tribunal's jurisdiction, lost, and on 7 June 2024 the tribunal imposed an administrative penalty of ₦150 million for failing to obey its order and directed a month of free DStv and GOtv for subscribers. TheCable's report says the tribunal treated the case as being about the eight days' notice MultiChoice gave customers, not about the right to set prices as such. The fuller legal story is in the DStv price lock and the FCCPC case.
On 24 February 2025 MultiChoice announced new prices from 1 March 2025, again citing rising operating costs. The figures reported were Compact ₦19,000, Compact Plus ₦30,000 and Premium ₦44,500, with GOtv Max at ₦8,500, Supa at ₦11,400 and Supa Plus at ₦16,800. On 27 February 2025 the FCCPC directed MultiChoice to keep its existing prices until an investigative hearing had finished. The Commission says MultiChoice put the new prices in place before the hearing on 6 March 2025, and it filed three counts at the Federal High Court in Lagos against MultiChoice Nigeria Limited and its chief executive. We have not found a dated report of how that case ended; check the FCCPC's announcements for the current position.
Coverage of the 2025 announcement gives the old prices as Compact ₦15,000, Compact Plus ₦24,500 and Premium ₦29,500. Those do not match the 2024 announced prices of ₦15,700, ₦25,000 and ₦37,000. A Premium 'old price' of ₦29,500 would suggest the 2024 Premium rise was not in force by February 2025, while the other two figures suggest something else again. We could not resolve this from the sources we opened, so treat any percentage rise for 2025 that you see quoted with care, and compare against a receipt or bank debit from your own account if you need the exact figure you paid.
Example only, using announced prices: twelve months of Compact at ₦15,700 comes to ₦188,400. At ₦19,000 it comes to ₦228,000. The difference is ₦39,600 a year, or ₦3,300 a month. Your own figure depends on what you were actually charged, which your payment history shows.
Cable TV is one of the bills you can pay from a Pryme Personal Account (TV bills). Every payment leaves a record, and a verifiable receipt through VerifyDoc.ai (receipts) is useful if you ever need to show what you paid during a disputed price change.
From the dated reports we checked, MultiChoice announced increases due on 1 April 2022, 1 May 2024 and 1 March 2025. Each was challenged, by the tribunal in 2022 and 2024 and by the FCCPC in 2025.
MultiChoice announced Compact at ₦19,000 from 1 March 2025, as reported on 25 February 2025. Check the MyDStv app for what you pay today.
Yes. On 7 June 2024 the Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal imposed a ₦150 million administrative penalty for disobeying its order and directed a free month for subscribers, according to TheCable.
Reports of the 2025 rise quoted 'old' prices that do not match the 2024 announcement. Always check the date of any figure and compare it with your own payment history.
