Ten years, one trunk

The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.

2016E-commerce

2018OjirehPrime Card

2026Agentic operations

Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.

Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Driver's licence in Calabar: FRSC and VIO steps and fees

How to get, renew or replace a driver's licence in Calabar: driving school, the VIO test, FRSC capture, the official fees as at October 2026 and how to track it.

The short answer

In Calabar you start a new driver's licence on the FRSC portal (nigeriadriverslicence.frsc.gov.ng) with a certificate number from an accredited driving school, pay the fee, take any test the Cross River vehicle inspection office requires, and attend FRSC capture at a centre in Cross River. FRSC's portal FAQ lists fees as at October 2026 of ₦15,000 for three years and ₦21,000 for five years for motor vehicle classes, and ₦7,000 or ₦11,000 for motorcycles (Class A).

A Nigerian driver's licence is issued nationally, but the process runs through three bodies: an accredited driving school, the state's vehicle inspection office (VIO) for testing, and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for capture and production. The same rules apply in Calabar as elsewhere; what differs is which local offices you visit. This guide covers new licences, renewal and replacement.

Official fees as at October 2026

Licence3 years5 years
Class A (motorcycle)₦7,000₦11,000
Other classes (motor vehicle)₦15,000₦21,000

These are the figures on FRSC's driver's licence portal FAQ, accessed October 2026. They match the rates in a Joint Tax Board circular effective 1 November 2024, as reported by The Guardian. Each class is charged separately, and FRSC notes that payment channels may add their own charges. Driving school fees, the VIO test and any medical certificate are separate and are not set on the FRSC portal; ask for them in writing.

Which class do you need?

FRSC's portal letters licence classes A to J. The ones most Calabar applicants need are Class A for motorcycles and Class B for private motor vehicles; commercial driving needs a commercial class such as Class E, which the FAQ gives as the usual upgrade from Class B. A licence can carry several classes, up to three on the current licence format, and each class is paid for separately. Keke and okada riders working for a fleet should ask the operator which class it requires before applying.

Documents to have ready

  • Driving school certificate number (fresh applicants).
  • Your NIN and a valid phone number and email for the portal.
  • Your old licence number and date of birth (renewals and upgrades).
  • A medical certificate for commercial classes.
  • A police report for a lost licence, and supporting documents for a change of name or other details.

New licence: steps

  1. Enrol at an accredited driving school in Calabar. FRSC requires fresh applicants to complete training at an accredited school, which issues the certificate number you need to start. The portal lists accredited schools under Contact > Accredited Driving Schools by state and LGA.
  2. Apply on nigeriadriverslicence.frsc.gov.ng: personal details, contact, processing centre and licence type, review and pay. You can edit until you pay. Unpaid applications are purged after three months.
  3. First-time applicants may take at most two classes (A and B).
  4. Take the driving test required by the Cross River vehicle inspection office. Ask the VIO in Calabar for the test fee and booking process; it is not on the FRSC portal.
  5. Attend capture (photo and fingerprints) at an FRSC centre in Cross River. Find centres on the portal under Contact > Capture Centre by state and LGA.
  6. Track your application with the Application ID, or licence number and date of birth, under Track DL Application Status, and collect when ready.

Renewal

Renew an expired licence through the same portal, choosing three or five years. The FRSC FAQ says upgrades, such as private to commercial, go through renewal if the licence has expired or reissue if it is still valid, using your existing licence number. Commercial classes need a medical certificate. Fleet owners should read commercial driver's licence rules.

Replacement and change of details

The FRSC FAQ allows a change of details with supporting documents. For a lost licence, get a police report, then apply for reissue through the portal and attend capture if asked. Check the portal for the current replacement fee before paying; it is not listed among the FAQ fees.

Worked example: total cost

ItemAmount
Driving school (assumed)₦60,000
VIO test (assumed)₦10,000
FRSC five-year licence, motor vehicle (official)₦21,000
Bank or channel charge (assumed)₦300
Total₦91,300

Check: 60,000 + 10,000 + 21,000 + 300 = ₦91,300. Choosing three years saves ₦6,000 on the FRSC fee but means renewing two years sooner.

Avoid touts

  • Apply and pay on the official portal yourself. Anyone offering a licence without training, test or capture is selling a fake or a risk.
  • Do not pay cash to a person at the capture centre for "speed". Fees are paid online.
  • Driving without a valid licence is an offence; ThisDay reported in February 2025 that the Corps Marshal ordered the penalty point system activated, with driving without a licence carrying 10 points and a ₦10,000 fine.

Where Pryme fits

You can pay portal fees by card or transfer from your Pryme naira balance and keep the receipt in the app. If you are also renewing your passport, see the passport office in Calabar, and for identity numbers, NIN and BVN enrolment in Calabar.
