Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

How to check a federal recruitment portal is real

Federal jobs are advertised publicly and never sold. How to trace a portal link back to the agency, spot fake patterns and refuse any fee.

The short answer

A federal recruitment portal is real only if you reached it from the agency's own announcement: the Federal Civil Service Commission says vacancies are advertised in national newspapers and on its official website, and that links sent through WhatsApp, social media or private agents should be ignored. No one may charge you for a form, shortlisting or an appointment letter; a demand for money is the clearest sign of a fake.

What the Federal Civil Service Commission actually says

The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) is the body that appoints people into the federal civil service, and it has issued repeated warnings about fake recruitment. In a statement reported by Nairametrics on 21 August 2026, its Head of Press and Public Relations, Ibraheem Zakariyya, said genuine federal recruitment is never carried out through private agents, middlemen or people who claim they can influence shortlisting. He added that a message carrying the commission's name, logo or branding is not genuine just because it looks official.

The same statement set out how real vacancies are published. Under Rule 020102(i) of the Public Service Rules 2021, vacancies on grade levels 07 to 17 are advertised in three national newspapers and on the commission's official website, with a closing date. The commission also said no officer can be appointed unless there is an authorised establishment (an approved post) and, where needed, a recruitment waiver from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. In plain terms: a job that appears out of nowhere, with no newspaper advert and no closing date, should be treated with suspicion.

Earlier, in January 2025, the commission disowned vacancy notices that used its website name and the name of its Director (Recruitment and Appointment). It called them "fictitious" and said there was no recruitment under way, and that any future exercise would be announced publicly. Fraudsters copy real names and titles because they know readers look for them.

How to trace a portal back to the real agency

The safest habit is to never start from the link you were sent. Start from the agency and work forward to the portal.

  1. Find the agency's own website by typing its name into a search engine, not by clicking the link in the message. The federal bodies whose sites we opened for this guide (for example fmino.gov.ng, nbte.gov.ng and mdcn.gov.ng) all use addresses ending in .gov.ng.
  2. Look on that website, or in a national newspaper, for the recruitment announcement. The FCSC says applicants should reach its recruitment portal only through links in its official announcements.
  3. Compare the portal address character by character with the link in the announcement. Fake sites often use lookalike spellings, extra words such as "-recruitment" or "-portal", or endings like .com, .org or .com.ng.
  4. Check the dates. A real exercise has a published opening and closing date. A site that is "always open" or keeps extending without notice is a warning sign.
  5. If you still cannot confirm it, ask the agency directly through the contact details on its own website, or wait. A genuine exercise will still be there tomorrow; a scam relies on urgency.

The no-fee rule and the fake patterns to know

The FCSC's August 2026 statement warned against anyone demanding money for recruitment forms, shortlisting, employment, appointment letters or "preferential treatment", and told applicants not to pay in response to unsolicited messages. Some recruitment exercises run by individual agencies do involve test centres or document checks, but the advert itself will say so; it will not arrive as a private request to pay someone's personal account.

PatternWhy it matters
Link arrives by WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook or SMSThe FCSC named social media, WhatsApp groups and unofficial websites as the main channels for fake messages.
A "contact" says they can get you shortlistedThe commission says recruitment is never done through agents or middlemen.
Request to pay for a form, a slot or an appointment letterThe commission specifically warned against these payments.
The site asks for your BVN, card PIN or bank loginNo recruitment form needs your PIN or bank password. This is data theft.
A shortlist circulated on social mediaThe FCSC has disowned fictitious shortlists before. Check the agency's own site.
Logo, letterhead and an official's real nameFraudsters copy these. Branding is not proof.

The commission also warned that applicants who submit false declarations or forged certificates can be disqualified. A portal that offers to "fix" your certificates or age is not only a scam but also a route to losing a real job later.

What to check first

  • Did you find the advert yourself, on the agency's own site or in a national newspaper?
  • Is there a closing date and a named grade or post?
  • Does the portal address match the one in the official announcement exactly?
  • Has anyone asked you for money, or for a PIN, OTP or password?
  • Is someone you have never met promising to influence the outcome?

If the answer to the last two questions is yes, stop. Do not send money, and do not share codes. If you have already paid, our guide on what to do in the first hour after fraud walks through calling your bank, and reporting to the police and EFCC explains the formal complaint.

If you already applied on a fake site

Assume anything you typed in is now with the fraudster. If you entered bank details, card numbers or a one-time code, call your bank immediately and ask it to block the card or channel. If you uploaded your NIN slip, BVN or certificates, watch for messages that use those details to sound convincing, such as a "recruitment officer" who knows your full name and state of origin. Change any password you reused on the fake site. Keep screenshots of the advert, the link and any payment receipts, because the police and your bank will ask for them.

Where Pryme fits

Pryme's sign-in and payment approvals rely on an authenticator app and a transaction PIN rather than SMS codes, which removes one thing a fake portal can trick you into reading out; see how Pryme secures your account. Before you ever pay an individual, our guide to confirming an account name before you transfer explains what a name check does and does not prove.

Questions people ask

How do I know if a federal government recruitment is real?

Find the advert on the agency's own .gov.ng website or in a national newspaper, and apply only through the link in that announcement. The FCSC says vacancies on GL 07 to 17 are advertised in three national newspapers and on its website, with a closing date.

Do I need to pay for a federal job application form?

The FCSC has warned against anyone demanding money for recruitment forms, shortlisting, employment or appointment letters, and told applicants not to pay in response to unsolicited messages.

Is the federal recruitment link on WhatsApp real?

Treat it as unverified. The commission names WhatsApp groups and social media as the main channels for fake messages. Go to the agency's own website instead of clicking.

Can someone help me get shortlisted for a federal job?

No. The commission says genuine recruitment is never done through private agents, middlemen or anyone claiming influence over shortlisting.
