Meet Eva, the assistant inside the Pryme app. She holds dollars, pounds, euros and Naira side by side, swaps at a locked rate, pays bills in any of them and sends anywhere, asking before anything moves.

We give you a limit to spend at the shops and services you already use — and an account that works on your month while you get on with it. Dollars, pounds and euros sit beside your Naira, and an assistant handles the running of it, asking you first every single time.

You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What a hectare of cassava costs from land preparation to harvest, Nigeria's average yield against what better weed control achieves, and buyers.
In our labelled example, a hectare of cassava costs about ₦1,050,000 to grow, from land rent and clearing through stems, weeding, fertiliser and harvest. FAO figures cited by IITA put Nigeria's average yield at about 9.1 tonnes per hectare, while IITA's weed management work reported more than 20 tonnes with better weed control; at an example ₦120,000 per tonne, 9 tonnes barely covers the cost and 20 tonnes more than doubles it.
Cassava is grown almost everywhere in southern and central Nigeria, and many people assume it is easy money because it tolerates poor soil. The problem is yield. An IITA report from April 2018, citing FAO data, put Nigeria's average at 9.1 tonnes per hectare and noted that Asian producers get more than twice that. Results from IITA's Cassava Weed Management Project showed farmers could exceed 20 tonnes per hectare by adopting its weed-control packages.
The same report says weed control takes 50 to 80% of the labour budget in cassava production. That is why the cost table below gives so much space to weeding, and why the profit table depends so heavily on tonnes per hectare.
This is an example for one hectare on rented land, using tractor services and hired labour. Rates vary by state and season.
| Activity (example) | Cost (₦) |
|---|---|
| Land rent, one season | 80,000 |
| Clearing | 100,000 |
| Ploughing and harrowing | 90,000 |
| Ridging | 60,000 |
| Improved stems (60 bundles at ₦1,500) | 90,000 |
| Planting labour | 60,000 |
| Pre-emergence herbicide and application | 70,000 |
| Manual weeding, two passes | 120,000 |
| Fertiliser | 160,000 |
| Harvesting labour | 120,000 |
| Transport to buyer | 100,000 |
| Total | 1,050,000 |
If you own the land, use family labour or skip tractor services, your cost will be lower. If you have to clear virgin bush, it will be higher.
Roots are often sold by the tonne, by the truckload or by the plot to processors. This table uses an example price of ₦120,000 per tonne of fresh roots.
| Yield (tonnes/ha) | Revenue at ₦120,000/t | Less ₦1,050,000 cost |
|---|---|---|
| 9 (close to national average) | 1,080,000 | 30,000 |
| 15 | 1,800,000 | 750,000 |
| 20 (IITA weed-control results) | 2,400,000 | 1,350,000 |
The difference between the first and last rows is mostly weeding done on time, healthy stems and planting at the right density. Fertiliser helps, but an unweeded field will not repay it.
Young cassava grows slowly and weeds grow fast. Until the canopy closes over the rows, weeds compete for light, water and nutrients, and a field that is weeded late rarely catches up. That is the practical meaning of IITA's point that weeding takes most of the labour budget.
Plant healthy stem cuttings from a trusted source. Stems from diseased fields carry problems into your farm, and poor stems are a false saving on a crop that stays in the ground for many months.
Cassava can be left in the ground and harvested when prices or labour suit you, which is one of its strengths. The right maturity window depends on the variety: ask your stem supplier or state Agricultural Development Programme officer how many months your variety needs. Leaving it too long can make roots woody and lower their value to processors, while harvesting too early gives a lower yield.
Selling to factories often requires a registered business, a bank account in that name and the ability to deliver to a schedule. The CAC fee schedule dated 29 May 2025 lists ₦20,000 for business name registration with a certified copy. Farmers' cooperatives can help small growers meet volume requirements together.
A farm that pays labour gangs and receives from processors can use a Pryme Business Account and pay workers in one approved run with bulk payouts. You can issue verifiable receipts through VerifyDoc.ai for root sales (receipts), which helps when a buyer's accounts team needs proof. For collecting from processors, see how to get paid in Nigeria.
About ₦1,050,000 in our labelled example on rented land with hired labour and tractor services. Own land and family labour reduce it.
IITA, citing FAO, put the national average at about 9.1 tonnes per hectare; its weed-control trials reported more than 20 tonnes.
It depends on yield. In our example, 9 tonnes barely covers costs while 20 tonnes leaves about ₦1.35 million per hectare.
It depends on the variety; ask your stem supplier or state ADP officer for the maturity period of the variety you plant.
