You are not borrowing. You are selling to somebody who already has the money — and that money can only be spent with a business like yours.

We give the buyer a one-time account number. They transfer to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in.

Resolved 4 conversations — two deliveries, one refund. The business has changed shape four times and never changed what it was rooted in. Each version was built out of what the last one could not do.
An online grocery store, built out of a faulty tab. Selling the food was the easy part — taking the money for it, and moving it, turned out to be the business.
A prepaid card. The first time the company issued rather than resold, and the first time it carried the obligations that come with holding somebody else’s money.
Solid Allianze acquired — an existing bank with an existing licence. The perimeter stopped being someone else’s to draw.
More than one currency on one balance, and the rebrand to Pryme. A Nigerian business could hold dollars without holding a second institution.
Accounts that do the work rather than only hold value. Five agents on the account, inside a policy you write — which is where the new mark starts.
Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.
Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.
Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.
Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.
Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.
Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.
Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Why a BVN fingerprint check fails, from worn or injured fingers to poor capture, and what your bank can do at the branch to put it right.
A BVN fingerprint fails to match when the print presented today differs from the one captured at enrolment, most often because of worn or injured skin, dry or dirty fingers, a dirty scanner, or a poor original capture. NIBSS captures all ten fingers and the face at enrolment and says customer updates are done physically at bank branches, so the fix is a visit to your bank to verify or update your biometric record.
When you enrol for a BVN, NIBSS says the bank captures "all ten (10) fingers and facial image", issues an acknowledgment slip with a transaction ID, and the BVN is generated within 24 hours. That stored set of prints is what later checks compare against. NIBSS lists fingerprint matching among its verification services, alongside an "I'm Alive" check, so some banks and institutions use prints or a live face to confirm a customer is who they say they are.
A match is a statistical comparison, not a photograph. The scanner reads ridges and the points where they split or end. If enough of those points line up, the check passes. If too few do, it fails, even when the finger is yours.
| Cause | Why it fails | What helps |
|---|---|---|
| Worn prints from manual work | Ridges flatten from washing, farming, building, hair work or cleaning | Try other fingers; ask for a biometric update |
| Cuts, burns, scars or loss of a finger | The stored pattern no longer exists | Report the change and update the record |
| Very dry or very wet skin | Ridges do not register cleanly | Wipe, moisten lightly, try again |
| Dirty or scratched scanner | Glass blocks part of the print | Ask staff to clean it or use another device |
| Poor original capture | Smudged or partial prints stored at enrolment | Re-capture at the branch |
| Ageing skin | Prints lose definition over time | Face verification where offered; update the record |
The CBN's 2021 Revised Regulatory Framework for BVN Operations, as summarised by Technext, places a duty on customers to give accurate biometrics and to report later changes, and gives the loss of a finger as an example. So if an injury has changed a finger, it is your responsibility to tell your bank, not just theirs to notice.
Because NIBSS says that "update of customer information shall be done at their Bank Branches physically", there is no online or USSD route to re-capture prints. Practice differs between banks, but the visit usually follows this pattern:
Your bank is the right place to start even if you enrolled at another bank, because any bank branch can capture you. Ask staff to note the reason, for example a burn to the right thumb, so that the next failure is easier to explain.
A fingerprint mismatch matters most at moments when the bank must be sure of identity: opening a new account, reactivating a dormant one, collecting a card, authorising a large withdrawal over the counter or confirming an update to your record. Some institutions also run periodic proof-of-life checks, which NIBSS supports through its "I'm Alive" verification service. If you cannot pass, the bank may hold the request until it has verified you another way.
It is worth separating two situations. In the first, the scanner simply did not read you well on the day; a second attempt on a clean device, or with another finger, usually works. In the second, your stored record no longer matches your hands, because of injury, years of manual work or a poor capture at enrolment. Only the second needs a record update, and it is the one to raise formally so that it is fixed once rather than argued over at every visit.
Example: a hairdresser in Port Harcourt who enrolled in 2015 finds that her right thumb and index finger no longer match after years of chemical treatments. The branch tries her left hand, which passes, and records the change. Had none matched, staff would verify her by passport and complete a biometric update.
Some people's prints never read well, whatever is done. In that case ask the bank to rely on face or document checks for the services that allow it, and to record that your prints are poor. If the bank refuses to help or the issue drags past the CBN's five-working-day timeline after you have supplied everything, raise a written complaint with the bank's customer care and keep the reference. Our guide to updating BVN biometrics after an injury goes further on that case.
Pryme protects day-to-day access with an authenticator app (no SMS codes) and a transaction PIN, described on our security page, so you are not relying on a fingerprint scanner every time you pay. Your BVN record still needs to be accurate, because banks share it.
Usually worn or injured fingers, dry skin, a dirty scanner or a poor original capture. The stored prints from enrolment no longer line up with what the scanner reads.
No. NIBSS says customer information is updated physically at bank branches, so biometric re-capture needs a branch visit.
Not necessarily. Any bank where you hold an account can help, since BVN enrolment and updates are done at bank branches across the industry.
Yes. The 2021 BVN framework, as reported by Technext, asks customers to report later changes to their biometrics, and gives losing a finger as an example.
