Questions

The things people ask us first.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives people and businesses in Nigeria one account that holds Naira alongside dollars, pounds and euros, and a set of agents that do the running of it — keeping the books, chasing what is owed, answering customers and paying bills. Nothing leaves an account without the owner’s approval.

Can I hold dollars, pounds and euros in a Pryme account?

Yes. A Pryme account holds Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros side by side on one ledger, each with its own account details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area. You can swap between them at a rate you set, and every currency has its own statement.

What is Spaces?

Spaces is available in Nigeria. It gives a shopper money to spend that can only be spent with a participating business. The business is paid into its Naira account whether or not the shopper repays, because Pryme carries the credit. For the business it is free to join, there is nothing monthly, and the customer’s identity is never shown — only a reference and what it is worth.

What do the agents on a Pryme Business Account do?

Five agents come with the account. The Chief of Staff runs the week and keeps what is stuck moving. Finance watches the money and keeps the books as you trade. Compliance keeps the filings on time and screens what moves. Sales chases what you are owed. Customer Support answers your customers and follows up. Each has a job description, a budget and a ceiling you set, and each one proposes rather than acts — nothing leaves the account without your signature.

How does Pryme Pay work?

Pryme Pay takes payments on your own site or on a checkout page you control. The buyer is given a one-time account number and transfers to it from any bank app or by USSD — no card, no OTP, nothing to type in. The money lands in the same account your agents are running, already matched to the order and already in your books.

What are Savings Boxes?

Savings Boxes are separate pots inside a Pryme account, held in Naira. Flexible Boxes can be withdrawn at any time, Fixed Boxes hold to a date, Investment Boxes hold for longer, and Interest-free Boxes earn nothing by design. A business can use them to ring-fence payroll and the tax it withholds, so that money cannot be spent by accident.

Who holds my money, and is it protected?

Pryme is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts and deposits are provided by Solid Allianze Microfinance Bank Limited, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and is a member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Can I build on Pryme?

Yes. Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

What is Pryme?

Pryme is a financial technology company. It gives you one account that holds US dollars, pounds sterling and euros beside Naira, with an assistant that runs the account for you and asks before anything moves. Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, and further markets open as each licence lands.

Can I open a Pryme account from outside Nigeria?

Accounts are provided in Nigeria today, subject to verification and approval. Foreign-currency balances are held and converted inside that account, so you can hold, receive and swap dollars, pounds and euros wherever you are.

Which currencies can I hold with Pryme?

Naira, US dollars, pounds sterling and euros, side by side on one ledger. Each has its own details — a Nigerian account number, a US account number, a UK sort code and an IBAN for the euro area — and each has its own statement.

How do I send money to Nigeria with Pryme?

Swap at a rate you set rather than the rate of the day, then send to any Pryme username or to a Nigerian bank account. There is no fee to send to another Pryme account.

What does the assistant do?

Eva is the assistant inside the Pryme app. She opens accounts, moves money, saves toward your goals, pays what is due and follows up what is owed to you — and asks you before anything moves.

What is Pryme Rails?

Pryme Rails lets a platform issue a dedicated Naira account number to each of its own customers, collect into it and reconcile against it, over one API — the same rails the Pryme Business Account runs on.

Australia visitor visa from Nigeria: funds to show

The subclass 600 visa sets no fixed amount to show. How to judge what is enough, the evidence that helps, and the financial gaps that lead to refusal.

The short answer

The Australian Visitor visa (subclass 600) does not set a fixed sum: Home Affairs' tourist stream page, updated 1 July 2026, gives no figure. You need to show enough money for the length and type of trip, a steady source of income, and reasons to return to Nigeria. Statements that show regular income over months carry more weight than a single large balance.

What the visa is, and what it asks

The Visitor visa (subclass 600) Tourist stream lets you visit Australia for up to 12 months as a tourist, on a cruise or to see family and friends, according to the Department of Home Affairs. Its page, as we read it in October 2026, does not publish a minimum balance. That is common for visitor visas. Instead of a fixed figure, the officer judges whether your money fits your plans and whether you are likely to leave at the end of your stay.

We could not confirm Home Affairs' document checklist for Nigerian applicants on a page we opened, so the evidence list below reflects what an officer can reasonably judge from, not an official list. The document checklist shown in ImmiAccount when you apply is the one to follow.

How to judge "enough"

Because there is no published figure, build your own estimate from real costs and show that your funds cover it with room to spare:

  • Return flights, unless already paid.
  • Accommodation for each night, or a host's invitation if you are staying with family.
  • Daily spending on food, transport and activities.
  • Travel insurance.
  • Your continuing costs at home while you are away, such as rent and school fees, which an officer may expect you to keep paying.

Worked example

Example only. Funmi plans a 21-day trip. She estimates AUD 1,800 for flights, AUD 150 a night for 21 nights of accommodation (AUD 3,150), AUD 80 a day for spending (AUD 1,680) and AUD 120 for insurance. Her total is 1,800 + 3,150 + 1,680 + 120 = AUD 6,750. Her statement should show that she can cover this while still paying her usual bills at home. These numbers are illustrations; use real quotes for your own trip.

Evidence that tends to help

EvidenceWhy it helps
Several months of personal bank statementsShows regular income and normal spending, not a one-off balance
Employer letter with approved leaveShows a job to return to
Business registration and business statementsShows the business that funds the trip and needs you back
Host's invitation and their evidenceIf family in Australia will host or pay, links them to you
Travel historyEarlier trips with timely returns support your intention to return
Property, family and study tiesReasons to come back to Nigeria

If a relative in Australia is paying, their support should be documented with their own statement and proof of your relationship; see proving the relationship to a sponsor.

If you are self-employed or run a business

Many Nigerian applicants earn through a business rather than a salary. In that case your personal statement may show irregular credits from the business account. Make the link visible: include the business registration, a few months of the business account statement, and a short note explaining how you pay yourself. An officer who can see the business, its income and your role in it has a clearer picture of why you will return than one who sees only a personal balance. If the business pays for the trip directly, say so and show the payment.

Financial gaps that commonly lead to refusal

  • A sudden deposit just before applying, without a source. Read how officers see large deposits.
  • A balance that does not match the plan, such as a long stay with funds for a week.
  • Income that the statement does not show, for example a salary stated on the form but no salary credits.
  • Weak ties to Nigeria alongside modest funds, which together suggest you may not return.
  • Documents that cannot be checked or that look altered. See how doctored statements are caught.

What to check first

  1. Read the Home Affairs subclass 600 page and the checklist in your ImmiAccount application.
  2. Check the current visa application charge and processing time on Home Affairs' own pages; we did not find them on the page we read.
  3. Draft a simple trip budget and make sure your statement covers it with a margin.
  4. Order stamped statements or a bank letter if the checklist asks; see getting a visa statement from a Nigerian bank.

Costs of the evidence itself

If your checklist asks for a stamped statement, your Nigerian bank may charge for it. The CBN's Guide to Charges (effective 1 January 2020) allows up to ₦20 a page for special statements, with monthly statements free. Any reference letter is separate. Ask your branch for the full cost and collection date before ordering.

Where Pryme fits

Pryme customers can generate a verifiable statement through receipts and statements, so an officer can check it is unaltered. Whether Home Affairs accepts a particular document is its decision.

Questions people ask

How much money do I need for Australia visitor visa from Nigeria?

There is no fixed amount. Home Affairs' tourist stream page sets none. Show enough to cover flights, stay and spending for your trip, plus your ongoing costs at home.

How many months bank statement for Australia visitor visa?

No period is fixed on the page we read. Several months of statements showing regular income are more persuasive than a single recent balance. Follow the ImmiAccount checklist.

Can my family in Australia sponsor my visit?

A host can support your trip with an invitation and evidence of their own funds. Include proof of your relationship and their statement.

Why is Australia visitor visa refused for Nigerians?

Common financial reasons include unexplained deposits, funds that do not fit the planned stay, income not shown on statements and weak ties to Nigeria.
